JOB SUMMARY
Coordinates the procurement of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies for the organization to support business sales plans, manufacturing plans, inventory targets, quality objectives, and cost objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
o Analyze system generated demand signals to determine material requirements then generate and execute purchase orders. Coordinates all activities related to procurement of materials or services beginning with intent to purchase through delivery. Analyzes the requirements including specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity is needed.
o Meet regularly with suppliers.
o Interface on any major supplier issues. Assures that the materials/services are delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.
o Act as liaison for customer service, sales, marketing, engineering, quality and manufacturing to assure the establishment of proper priorities, delivery requirements and technical support.
o Lead supply chain risk assessment. Coordinate countermeasures, including lead time reduction with vendor, safety stock, forecast accuracy, alternative vendors, or alternative components.
o Manages and develops the supplier relationships.
o Lead negotiations with supplier including any penalties, price adjustments, credit notes, additional process an equipment at suppliers site. Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
o Deployment of specs and standards in support of ECO changes to suppliers.
o Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
o Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or BS Industrial or other engineering discipline
o Five to ten years related experience
o Knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
o ERP software, SAP preferred
o Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, engineering specifications, and procedure manuals.
o Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
o Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
o Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
o Good interpersonal skills; Team Player
o Good verbal and written communications skills
o Good organizational skills and analytical ability
PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
o Knowledge of SAP
o Familiar with Six Sigma & lean manufacturing
o Familiar with reading engineering drawings
o Experience in manufacturing process, machining, PCBA, injection molding environment
