Description
Senior Product Manager
About us
Founded in Sydney in 2014, ezyCollect by Sidetrade is Australia's leading Order-to-Cash platform for small and mid-sized businesses. We automate credit management, collections, and payments - taking the manual work out of getting paid. Our 1,100+ customers manage A$19 billion in receivables through the platform, typically cutting late payments by 40% and bad debt by 80% within three months.
Now part of global AI leader Sidetrade, we're scaling our reach across three continents - bringing enterprise-grade technology to the mid-market while staying true to our Sydney roots. Australian innovation. Global ambition.
Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Product Manager to own how ezyCollect decides what to build, and why. You will sit at the centre of our customers, our commercial teams and three engineering squads (Credit Risk, Payments, and Workflows & Integrations), turning customer problems into clear, evidence-based priorities, build-ready requirements and measurable outcomes.
This role is for someone who thinks like a Product Manager, not a project coordinator. You will form recommendations, make trade-offs, explain the why, and be confident saying "not now" when the evidence does not support it. You are joining during a period of change and tremendous innovation, so you will help shape the Product Management function as well as run it over time.
The Role
Within twelve months, you will own the product roadmap and backlog across our three engineering squads: one clear, current source of truth, with priorities, rationale and decisions documented, and early warning when scope or timing moves.
Lead product discovery. Speak with customers and prospects every week to validate problems before we commit to solutions, rather than taking internal feature requests at face value.
Build and run a structured Voice of Customer loop: a single intake path for requests and issues from Sales, Customer Success, Support and Marketing, separating bugs from roadmap items and closing the loop with teams and customers.
Create a transparent, evidence-based prioritisation framework that shows what has been requested, why it matters, who it affects, its commercial impact, the decision and its roadmap status.
Turn validated problems into clear specs, user stories, acceptance criteria and prototypes, finalised ahead of development so engineering is never waiting on a product decision.
Keep discovery, UX and QA running ahead of delivery. Partner with our UX designer to review designs before they reach engineering, and with engineering managers and Delivery to clarify requirements and unblock teams' day to day.
Champion product quality. Test what is built and give early feedback from the end user's point of view: copy, design consistency, a streamlined experience, and features that work in both everyday and edge-case scenarios.
Run the product operating rhythm: weekly roadmap syncs with engineering and delivery leads, quarterly planning and Product Council preparation.
Own launch readiness with our go-to-market teams: betas, release notes, internal enablement and go/no-go calls, so Sales, CS and Marketing know what is coming, why it matters and when they can talk about it.
Join customer conversations on escalations, betas and complex ERP onboardings, and feed what you learn back into the roadmap.
Measure outcomes after release. Use product analytics (we use Mixpanel) to understand adoption and usage patterns and answer the question that matters: did this solve the problem?
Be the product voice with Sidetrade group stakeholders on shared initiatives, including payments and credit risk data.
Role requirements
Proven experience as a Product Manager in B2B SaaS, in an agile environment working with multiple engineering teams.
A strong product toolkit: discovery and customer interviews, roadmapping, prioritisation frameworks, requirements and user stories, and backlog management.
Able to prototype, write clear specs and give sharp UX/UI feedback.
Comfortable with product analytics and data-informed decisions, and with a modern product and engineering stack (Jira or equivalent, analytics and customer feedback tools). We hire for product judgement, not a specific tool.
Comfortable using AI tools in your day-to-day product work.
Commercially curious: experience working closely with Sales, CS and Marketing, and you treat commercial input as signal, not noise.
Decisive and structured: you turn messy information into clear problems, priorities and recommendations, and explain complex decisions simply to executives, engineers and customers alike.
Confident pushing back respectfully, including with senior leaders and customers, and open to being challenged yourself.
Customer-obsessed but not customer-controlled, and outcome-focused rather than output-focused.
Hands-on and comfortable with ambiguity: you are happy to build structure where it does not yet exist.
Highly valued, not all required
Experience in accounts receivable, order-to-cash, fintech/payments, credit risk or finance software.
Understanding of accounting/ERP integrations (e.g. Xero, MYOB, NetSuite, Acumatica, QuickBooks, Sage) and common sync and writeback challenges.
Payments know-how (e.g. surcharging, card fees, L2/L3 data, chargebacks) or experience with credit data providers.
AI product experience.
Experience working within a larger group and across time zones.
What we offer
A multinational, multicultural team. Join 60+ people across Australia, Brazil, the Philippines, North America, Ireland and the UK.
A culture built on trust. We hire great people and give them the space to do their best work. No micromanagement.
Real impact, real product. With over $19B in receivables under management, we help 1,500+ businesses reduce their overdue invoices by 43% on average, and we are building AI into how they get paid.
Flexible hybrid working. 3 days a week in our modern and fun WeWork office in the Sydney CBD, plus generous leave, including the option to work from anywhere once you are settled in.
Room to grow: as the business scales, there's real potential for this role to grow with it.
The extras. On-site barista coffee, ezyCollect SWAG, active lunch breaks, quarterly in-person team celebrations, monthly virtual games, weekly office events and regular lunch and learns.
