Position Overview:
As the Senior Manager, Merchandising Product Management, you will drive vision, strategy, and execution, transforming ideas into user-centric products that set industry standards.
In this role, the Senior Manager, Merchandising Product Management helps shape the long-term direction for merchandising products while overseeing the execution of the product roadmap. You’ll champion strategic alignment and tactical execution, focusing on delivering business value that drives sales, improves efficiency, and enhances customer experiences across the division.
The position also entails attracting, developing, and retaining top talent, working closely with developers, designers, business partners, and other product teams to translate strategic objectives into tangible, high-quality solutions that elevate both the business and the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the product management team in managing merchandising solutions required to deliver business value to drive sales.
• Set the overall product vision of customer and associate needs, both existing and potential, and uses that knowledge to help deliver merchandising products that provide Home Depot customers and associates with an unparalleled shopping experience
• Drives growth for the business by applying domain expertise to provide thought leadership and translate vision into action
• Collaborates across the division to create alignment between products to provide a seamless user experience
• Understands financial and business impact of proposed product updates and activities within portfolio, prioritizes updates to support the merchandising roadmap, and based on prioritization allocates funding across the products
• Drives product development by reviewing performance and directing work efforts of product teams to ensure products are aligned with company, stakeholder and end-user priorities
• Develop and maintain multiyear product roadmaps, prioritizing incoming requests from business partners and stakeholders while keeping in mind the business strategy, product vision and user needs
• Understands division goals and KPIs to ensure value is delivered against them
• Manages cross functional team and stakeholder expectations to execute on product strategy and provides education to requestors to determine prioritization based on tangible benefits and/or user experience
• Oversees development of business requirements for IT related projects
• Leverage the US project and product teams when developing a common capability
• Develop and mentor talent for efficient team development and pipeline

Skills:
• Demonstrated product management success, including experience with new product launches and taking products from inception to growth.
• Exceptional interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
• Comfortable working with ambiguity, especially in the context of new product launches or omni-channel projects.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies, including participation in stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Technologically literate, with a solid understanding of concepts such as APIs, databases, e-commerce platforms, SAP, and POS systems.
• Ability to collaborate successfully with developers and technical teams.
• Strong understanding of customer experience and UX, including journey mapping, user research, and design principles.
• Proficient in data analytics and data-driven decision-making, with the ability to interpret data and establish KPIs (e.g., sales, conversion rates).
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
• Reports to Director, Interconnected Merchandising Strategy
• Typically has 2-4 direct reports
Travel Requirements:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time
Physical Requirements:
• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles
Working Conditions:
• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable
Minimum Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
Minimum Years of Work Experience:
• Minimum 5 years retail experience within a large corporate environment, with cross functional leadership experience in E-commerce, Merchandising, Store Operations or other related areas
The pay range for this position is between $88,700.00 - $107,300.00
