Lead the strategy, delivery, resilience and modernisation of the technology estate supporting critical Global Markets Operations and selected Corporate Banking Operations capabilities.
This role combines deep business-domain expertise with broad technology leadership. The successful candidate will serve as the senior technology partner to Operations and business leadership, owning service stability, regulatory delivery, technology risk, platform strategy, organisational leadership and engineering transformation. A key aspect of the role is driving the responsible adoption of AI-enabled software engineering to enhance delivery effectiveness, quality and operational resilience.

The Opportunity
This is a high-profile leadership role responsible for technology supporting core Global Markets Operations capabilities across EMEA and selected Corporate Banking Operations functions.
Success requires a leader who can operate credibly at both executive and technical levels. You will influence business strategy, shape investment decisions, oversee a complex technology estate and lead transformation across a globally distributed organisation.
You will partner closely with senior stakeholders across Operations, Front Office, Technology, Risk, Compliance and executive management while leading an organisation of approximately 40-50 professionals across London, India and New York.
Scope of Role
- End-to-end technology ownership for critical Global Markets post-trade and back-office services.
- Strategic technology partner to senior Operations and business leadership.
- Leadership of a multi-disciplinary organisation spanning production support, engineering and change delivery across London, India and New York.
- Accountability for a mixed estate of strategic vendor platforms and internally developed applications.
- Ownership of service resilience, operational risk, regulatory delivery and technology modernisation.

Key Responsibilities
Executive Business Partnership
- Act as the trusted technology advisor to senior Global Markets Operations and Corporate Banking stakeholders.
- Provide technology leadership across core post-trade and operational capabilities including securities settlement, collateral management, liquidity and cash management, reconciliations, transaction reporting, confirmation matching and asset servicing.
- Translate business strategy, regulatory obligations and operational priorities into clear technology investment and execution plans.
- Build strong relationships across business, operations and technology functions, influencing outcomes at senior executive level.
- Represent Back Office Technology across governance, investment, risk and transformation forums.
- Provide concise executive reporting on service health, delivery performance, technology risk and investment priorities.
Strategy, Architecture and Roadmaps
- Define and execute a multi-year technology strategy across the Global Markets Operations technology estate and supporting Corporate Banking Operations platforms.
- Drive simplification, resilience, modernisation and technical debt reduction across a diverse estate of vendor and internally developed platforms.
- Shape technology roadmaps supporting regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, business growth and cost optimisation.
- Partner with Architecture, Infrastructure, Cyber Security and Data teams to ensure alignment with enterprise technology strategy.
- Promote platform rationalisation, automation and simplification while reducing operational complexity and risk.
Platform and Service Ownership
- Accountable for service availability, resilience, performance and operational supportability across the technology estate.
- Establish strong service ownership, monitoring, support models and operational controls.
- Lead major incident response, root-cause analysis and sustainable remediation.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, observability and elimination of manual operational processes.
- Ensure robust disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities across critical services.
Delivery and Change Leadership
- Lead delivery of regulatory, strategic, risk and business initiatives across the portfolio.
- Ensure clear governance, prioritisation and execution across programmes and projects.
- Drive process improvement, automation and straight-through processing.
- Manage dependencies across vendors, business functions, market infrastructure providers and global programmes.
- Make clear, risk-based prioritisation decisions where demand exceeds capacity.
Regulatory Reporting, Data and Controls
- Ensure robust technology support for regulatory reporting and operational control frameworks.
- Maintain strong governance around data quality, lineage, reconciliation and control evidence.

A key mandate of the role is to accelerate adoption of AI-enabled software engineering across the Back Office Technology organisation.
