About the Role: We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Accountant who thrives on solving complex financial challenges, uncovering meaningful insights, and making an impact. In this role, you'll play an essential part in maintaining financial accuracy and integrity through key general ledger responsibilities, preparing journal entries and financial statements, and transforming complex financial data into clear, actionable reports.You'll also have the opportunity to expand your expertise by contributing to cash management, investment and bond-related initiatives while collaborating with teams across the organization to support informed financial decisions.Our ideal candidate combines a strong foundation in corporate or governmental accounting with analytical thinking, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to outstanding customer service. Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work; exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time in normal office conditions, but does involve walking or standing outside periodically for inspections, customer calls, etc. Work requires no unusual physical demands. Physical demands for a specific position within this classification may vary and/ or exceed those demands described above.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited four-year college or university

• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in related field

• Strong communication, interpersonal, written, oral, and team skills

• Strong analytical skills

• Ability to work independently on projects in a timely manner

• Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Valid driver's license

Preferred Requirements: 

• CPA, MBA, or advanced degree is preferred

• Three (3) years experience in related field

• Knowledge in the utility industry

• Strong analytical and technological skills

• Experience with accounting applications/enterprise software
