1.0 POSITION SUMMARY

The position of Bookkeeper is a critical position at JG Drywall (J&G Drywall Inc). The Bookkeeper keeps the books for JG Drywall — accurately recording all day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, job costs, progress billings, retainage, receipts and payments — processes JG Drywall payroll, reconciles the accounts, and produces the financial reports ownership relies on.

The Bookkeeper also serves as the backup to Lynne Bateson for the affiliated entities (LBC Holdings Inc, JG Properties LLC, CBL Properties LLC, Chuco LLC and GSP1, LLC), covering day-to-day bookkeeping for those companies during absences, peak periods and month-end close.

The company keeps its books in QuickBooks Enterprise (Desktop) and QuickBooks Online and is migrating to Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES); the Bookkeeper will work in all three during the transition.

This position is full-time, salaried and exempt.

Salary Range: $55,000 – $62,000 per year, based on experience.

Acknowledging this description does not constitute a contract for employment.

6.0 DUTIES AND TASKS

The following standards are required of all employees of JG Drywall: (1) Attendance — everyone is expected to arrive so the workday begins at the agreed start time and to record time accurately in the company's timekeeping system. (2) Work Pace — we believe in a fair day's work for a fair day's pay; billing cutoffs, payroll deadlines and filing due dates are key to the success of the business.

A. Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process; bring the books to the trial balance stage each month.

B. Process accounts payable: enter vendor and subcontractor bills, match them to purchase orders and delivery tickets, code each to the correct job and cost code, pay on time and take all reasonable vendor discounts.

G. Maintain job setup and job costing so that job-cost reports are current and accurate; prepare the monthly work-in-progress (WIP) schedule of over/under billings.
