SUMMARY
Direct and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds and utility systems of included in the Prairie Plant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
Safety, Environment:
· Support and drive, accident prevention and environmental excellence.
· Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with
operational standards.
· Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to
resolve safety issues and maintenance problems and recommends
measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and
equipment.
Supply Chain:
· Reviews equipment spares inventories and ensures that critical spares are
procured.
Production:
· Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed
to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater
utilization of labor and materials.
· Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and
modification with project engineer.
Control:
· Manages and coordinates activities of a team of skilled workers engaged
in maintaining and repairing equipment, structures, utility systems,
buildings, and grounds.
· As a member of the senior management team at the Prairie facility,
participates in team meetings, strategic planning and PIP.
· Develops preventative maintenance program in conjunction with reliability
engineering and maintenance staff.
· Writes AFE’s and supports Capex efforts annually.
Quality:
· Directly supervises the reliability engineer, maintenance supervisor, and
maintenance planner ensuring that metrics and goals are achieved within
each contributor’s purview.
· Directly supervises the maintenance department; oversees the
performance management, attendance and training functions.
· Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools,
or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
· Review backlog of new Work Orders with maintenance supervisor &
maintenance planner weekly to confirm priorities for planning.
· Ensures storeroom is neat and orderly.
· Evaluate and assure accurate timecards, material requisitions, work plans,
and schedules are being utilized.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or equivalent required, plus completion of an
approved Instrument/Electrical course or equivalent field experience and
8+ years plant experience.
· Good working knowledge of equipment, materials, techniques, and
safeguards in respective discipline for maintenance and construction of a
compounding plant.
· Proven supervisory/administrative skills.
· Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written is mandatory
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows and knowledge
of SAP (S/4).
· Must be able to communicate to all levels of local management and to
other departments to explain problems and proposed solutions.
