We are unlocking new global markets through the expansion of consumer and commercial channels with evolutionary wireless connective products and services that exceed customer expectations. Our weBoost product line includes solutions for home, vehicle and small business, while our Wilson Connectivity product line provides a customized commercial solution.

But we don't just develop innovative products - we're also dedicated to developing great people. That's why we've been recognized as a "Best Companies to Work For" six times by Utah Business Magazine, and awarded Best Company Culture, Women in Manufacturing, and Manufacturer of the Year by the Utah Manufacturer's Association. Our strong work culture drives high employee satisfaction, and we're looking for individuals passionate about making a positive impact.

Why you should join our team as a Mechanical Engineer

Join Wilson Connectivity and play a hands-on role in designing innovative wireless connectivity products that keep people connected wherever they live, work, and travel. As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll lead the mechanical development of in-building, mobile, and vehicle wireless connectivity products, along with other solutions across Wilson Connectivity's portfolio. As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll take full ownership of mechanical design from concept through production, leading collaboration with electrical, RF, firmware, product management, quality, sourcing, manufacturing, and external suppliers. You'll work on challenging, real-world engineering problems, see your designs come to life, and contribute to continuous improvements across our product portfolio. If you enjoy hands-on design, technical problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and having a visible impact on products and processes, this is an opportunity to grow your expertise and make a difference at Wilson Connectivity.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead the mechanical design of complex products, parts, enclosures, and assemblies from requirements definition and concept development through prototyping, qualification, tooling, production release, and sustaining engineering.
  • Translate product, RF, electrical, thermal, environmental, regulatory, cost, and manufacturing requirements into robust mechanical architectures and detailed designs.
  • Create and maintain production-ready 3D models, 2D drawings, tolerance analyses, bills of materials, and technical specifications using SolidWorks.
  • Apply design for manufacturing and assembly principles across injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, die casting, extrusion, additive manufacturing, and related processes.
  • Perform and document structural, thermal, airflow, and other relevant simulations; correlate analytical results with prototype and qualification testing.
  • Define mechanical verification and validation plans, design test fixtures, oversee environmental and mechanical testing, and document results and corrective actions.
  • Lead design reviews, tolerance stack-up analyses, and DFMEA activities to identify risks early and drive them to closure.
  • Partner with suppliers, contract manufacturers, sourcing, and quality teams on material selection, tooling, manufacturability, cost, yield, and production readiness.
  • Manage CAD files, drawings, BOMs, engineering change orders, and product configuration within PDM and PLM systems while maintaining accurate revision control.
  • Investigate field and production issues using disciplined root-cause analysis and implement durable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of mechanical design standards, tools, and processes.

Education & Technical Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Four to six years of mechanical design experience supporting the development and production of hardware products.
  • Strong command of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5, including tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience designing parts for injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal, die casting, and rapid prototyping.
  • Proven ability to take products through prototype, verification, tooling, pilot production, and volume manufacturing.
  • Strong problem-solving, technical documentation, project-management, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills are required including familiarity with Windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D solid and surface modeling, complex assemblies, configuration management, and production-quality 2D drawings
  • Hands-on experience with SolidWorks Simulation or equivalent tools for structural, thermal, and airflow analysis
  • Experience with PDM and PLM systems, BOM management, revision control, and formal engineering change processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) or a related discipline
  • Experience developing telecommunications, RF, networking, industrial electronics, or other ruggedized electronic products.
  • Experience with electronics packaging, thermal management, ingress protection, environmental sealing, cable management, and serviceable enclosure design.
  • Working knowledge of product qualification, agency certification, reliability testing, and environmental standards applicable to commercial electronic equipment.
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM, Microsoft Dynamics, KeyShot, SolidWorks Visualize, or comparable tools.
  • Ability to create high-quality renderings and visualizations that communicate design concepts to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

This job may be for you if you can:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at any given time. Occasional bending, crouching, kneeling, and/or sitting in tight spaces will be necessary
