Description
Most architect roles take you away from the kit. This one doesn’t.
An established North East MSP needs a Network Technical Architect for its small, close-knit networking team. You’ll own the design and help deliver it. You’ll sit with Sales and Pre-sales to work out what the customer needs, design something scalable, secure and highly available, then present it to their leadership team. When design work is quieter, you’ll be hands-on delivering it.
If you’re a senior Cisco/Meraki engineer ready for design authority, or an architect who misses doing the build, this is built for you.
What you’ll be doing
Turning customer requirements into network designs that are the best fit for their budget and their wider estate
Leading technical presentations and design discussions with customers, up to C-suite
Designing, deploying and managing the lifecycle of LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, circuits and network security
Building solutions that hand over cleanly to Support, with monitoring, alerting, patching and documentation in place from day one
Working with the End User, Cloud & Infrastructure and Security teams so every design fits the bigger picture
Taking escalations from 1st and 2nd line, and helping develop those teams as you go
What you’ll bring
Experience as a Technical Architect, or a senior network role with real design ownership, within an MSP
3–5+ years in network engineering, with deep Cisco, Meraki and Fortinet expertise
A track record of designing and delivering complex network solutions end to end
The ability to explain complex technical problems to both junior engineers and non-technical execs
CCNP, CCDE, CCIE or CMSS is a strong advantage
What’s on offer
£65,000 – £75,000, plus annual pay reviews
A clearly defined training and progression plan
27 days’ holiday plus your birthday off
Pension matched up to 7% through salary sacrifice
Enhanced sick pay (4 months at full pay) and enhanced family leave
Electric car lease scheme, Cycle to Work and Tech & Home schemes
Perkbox, a Costco card, virtual GP and physio service
You’d be joining a highly accredited MSP with more than 25 years of history and close partnerships with Cisco and Microsoft. It serves public and private sector customers across networks, security, cloud, data centre and managed services.
