Position Summary
This position is responsible for directing and implementing the City's comprehensive information technology strategy, including systems planning, business process re-engineering, and technological infrastructure to support organizational objectives.
Essential Job Duties
- Direct information management budgeting, strategic planning, and database system strategy.
- Oversee planning and implementation of business information systems.
- Set overall direction of internal business systems based on senior management forecasting.
- Identify user needs and build Information Services (IS) teams across organizational levels.
- Serve as primary corporate spokesperson for information and technology management.
- Explore and evaluate new technologies for future implementation.
- Interface with industry partners on information management matters.
- Provide technological support for Information Service personnel.
- Creates and directs long-term strategic plans to guide major organization-wide initiatives.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or greater with 9 - 12 years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree with 15 - 19 years of experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years of managerial experience preferred
- Thorough knowledge of business process re-engineering and information systems management
- Experience in strategic planning and budget management
- Experience in building and leading cross-functional teams
- No additional certifications.

Work Environment
This position operates primarily in a professional office environment with occasional travel required for industry meetings and conferences. May require working extended hours during emergency situations or system implementations. In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule necessary to meet the City's needs.
Supervisory Responsibility
Provides leadership and direction to multiple teams through lower-level leadership and management, while developing long-term talent plans to execute organizational strategies. This role oversees multiple senior-level leaders who report directly to the position.
