The LA County Board of Supervisors recently declared a local state of emergency for homelessness, and the County is working to revise and expand our response to help all who are affected. We are looking for qualified and passionate individuals to help us in the mission of addressing issues like housing, mental health, and substance use. The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health is seeking qualified candidates to fill emergency Marketing Analyst vacancies related to the homelessness crisis.
Under the emergency order, applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days, with an opportunity for permanent County employment.
During your initial work period, you will be assessed on your work performance. This assessment will be weighted 100%.
Those who successfully pass the assessment will be considered for permanent appointment to Marketing Analyst.
DEFINITION:
Assists in coordinating and promoting department marketing programs.

What will I do as a Marketing Analyst?
- Negotiates or assists in the negotiations with marketing sponsors in matters relating to sponsorship, donations and licensing of intellectual property.
- Prepares or assists in the preparation of marketing data for negotiations, financial consideration and program implementation.
- Develops and prepares promotional materials for recruiting sponsorship agreements.
- Coordinates or assists in coordinating the implementation of marketing programs.
- Analyzes or assists in analyzing new marketing programs to determine their appropriateness for the department, and recommends programs that are within County marketing guidelines and standards.
- Drafts or assists in drafting recommendations to the Board of Supervisors, governmental agencies and officials.
- Prepares or assists in the preparation of award, grant and loan applications.
- Monitors marketing programs to determine contract compliance.
- Responsible for the planning, management, and execution of assigned duties that are a part of a larger and more complex project in County Marketing, as needed.
OPTION I: One (1) year's experience in a public agency* assisting in the negotiation and implementation of marketing programs.
A Master's degree** from an accredited college with specialization in Marketing may be substituted for 6 months of the required public or private sector experience.
