The Ultrasound Technologist I will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and physician orders to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute assigned tasks within area with guidance (e.g., diagnostic routine echocardiographic and electrocardiographic testing procedures, clinical activities, diagnostic 2D, 3D/4D and M-Mode tracings, pre-analytic and post-analytic support).
- Communicate with patient and family as directed, to support execution of tests as per protocol.
- Assist in the maintenance of equipment and order supplies (e.g., preparation and submission of requisitions).
- Provide support around documentation as per defined guidelines (e.g., storage, retrieval, tracking, disposal of paper, electronic and film imaging records, process logs, files, billing reports).
- Escalate issues and problems according to set standards and SOPs.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
- High School Diploma required
- Candidates must have successfully passed the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) Examination at the time of hire.
Minimum Experience:
- Some administrative support experience preferred (e.g., electronic data entry, records management, word processing, spreadsheet).
- Experience with medical terminology preferred.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law:
- One of the following certifications is required:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within six months of employment
- Vascular Technologist (RVT) obtained within six months of employment
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only:
- Pediatric Sonography from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS-PS) must be obtained within 12 months of start date.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
