The Opportunity

 

Lead the way as Abiomed’s first dedicated Field Service Engineer in Australia, delivering critical technical support for life-changing heart recovery technology. Own end-to-end installation, maintenance and troubleshooting while building trusted partnerships with hospitals across Australia and APAC. Shape the future of regional service operations by creating smarter processes, tools and workflows from the ground up.

 

The role is based in Sydney, New South Wales.

 

Responsibilities

 

●      Deliver end-to-end field service across Australia and APAC, from installation and maintenance to troubleshooting and upgrades.

●      Provide trusted technical support to hospitals, distributors and internal teams, ensuring a seamless customer experience.

●      Plan and execute service visits with the right parts, tools, documentation and follow-up actions.

●      Maintain accurate service records and assets, including equipment history, spare parts, loan devices and calibration.

●      Champion quality and compliance by following medical device standards, SOPs and escalation requirements.

●      Build the future of APAC service operations through process improvement, training and global collaboration.

●      Support service agreement activities, including quotations, renewals, and distributor or customer communication.

 

About You

 

●      Bring 3+ years of field service experience in medical devices, biomedical engineering or hospital equipment support.

●      Apply strong hands-on technical expertise across installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical or software-driven equipment.

●      Build trusted customer relationships through clear, confident communication with hospitals, distributors and internal teams.

●      Take ownership and work independently, proactively solving problems and delivering accurate, timely service documentation.

●      Thrive in a start-up environment, helping develop practical processes, tools and workflows from the ground up.

●      Be ready to travel across Australia and APAC, with a valid driver’s licence; SAP, Salesforce or service-process experience is an advantage.
