Description
The National Accounts Executive for Industrial Batteries is responsible for developing, managing, and growing local and national account relationships within targeted industrial markets. This role serves as a key point of contact for customers while partnering closely with the corporate team and franchise network to identify opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and drive sustainable revenue and profitability. The position focuses on developing account-specific sales strategies, expanding market presence, and coordinating resources across the organization to deliver exceptional customer solutions. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of customer needs, effective relationship management, and the ability to align customer opportunities with the capabilities of the Batteries Plus network.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Sales and Business Development
- Identify and pursue new local and national account opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and lead generation.
- Secure and conduct appointments with key decision-makers at large-scale accounts.
- Develop, negotiate, and close profitable sales opportunities that align with strategic goals.
- Evaluate market and customer needs to recommend solutions that fulfill demand and support revenue targets.
- Collaborate closely with Inside Sales and Commercial Sales leadership to align strategies and drive cross-functional execution.
Account Management and Customer Engagement
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and program compliance.
- Foster long-term customer relationships, providing consultative support, and identifying expansion opportunities.
- Provide technical sales support, product training, and deal-structuring guidance to franchise and corporate store teams to accelerate local industrial sales growth.
- Partner with franchisees to align local execution with program standards and objectives.
- Manage customer issues efficiently and proactively resolve concerns to ensure retention and satisfaction.
Sales Strategy, Planning, and Administration
- Maintain detailed records of sales activities, contacts, and opportunities using CRM and internal databases.
- Work with Marketing and Sales teams to support the development and execution of campaigns and sales initiatives.
- Track, monitor, and analyze the effectiveness of industrial account programs and provide actionable insights.
- Assist in sales forecasting, budget planning, and performance reporting.
- Ensure alignment with department and company goals through regular performance updates and status reports.
- Operate within assigned budget guidelines, ensuring responsible resource allocation.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of industrial battery sales experience with a strong track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience with sales presentations to executive leadership and decision-makers.
- Demonstrated success in managing large, complex accounts and negotiating profitable deals.
- Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence decisions.
- Proficiency in business analytics, including the ability to evaluate financial performance and develop data-driven recommendations.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite with strong proficiency in Excel.
- Self-motivated and capable of prioritizing work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Operational or P&L experience in a sales organization.
- Experience working in a franchise or multi-location business environment.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
