Advantage Steel & Construction is looking for an experienced Fitter/Fabricator to join our team in Saxonburg, PA. If you have structural steel fabrication experience, can read shop drawings, and take pride in quality craftsmanship, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do
As a Fitter/Fabricator, you will be responsible for preparing, fitting, and fabricating structural steel components according to drawings, specifications, and established quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Fit and fabricate structural steel components from shop drawings and specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols
- Perform layout, measuring, cutting, fitting, and welding
- Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and established quality requirements
- Operate fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
- Inspect work for accuracy, quality, and proper fit-up
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work as part of a team to meet production and project schedules
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of structural steel fabrication experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols
- Strong understanding of structural steel fitting and fabrication processes
- Experience with welding processes such as SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW preferred
- Working knowledge of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Familiarity with AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code – Steel preferred
- Experience with AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Code is a plus
- Ability to successfully complete welder qualification testing in multiple positions
- Experience operating fabrication equipment such as:
- Press brakes
- Shears
- Ironworkers
- Drill presses and magnetic drills
- Oxyfuel and plasma cutting equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Safety-minded approach to all work
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or trade school training is a plus
Experience working in an AISC, AWS, ASME, or API-certified fabrication environment is preferred.
A Typical Workday
The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM. Some flexibility is required, and extended hours may be necessary based on project schedules and production needs.
Occasional night or weekend work may be required for project or operational needs.

Safety-Sensitive Position
This is a Safety-Sensitive Position that may involve work on project sites, including federal projects, as well as work in a heavy manufacturing environment with potentially life-threatening hazards.
The position may require working at heights, around heavy equipment, near high-voltage systems, and in constantly changing work environments. Project work may occasionally require night or weekend work.
As a Federal Contractor, this position is subject to applicable drug-testing requirements and compliance policies.
