Role summary:
The Senior Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves diagnosing issues, managing maintenance schedules, overseeing less-experienced associates, and coordinating with contractors and suppliers. The position requires adherence to safety and regulatory standards while supporting operational efficiency. The Senior Technician also provides hands-on training, documents maintenance activities, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts to uphold quality and compliance across all facility services.
About the team:
The team supports Walmart Supercenters and Sam’s Clubs by maintaining landscapes through mowing, trimming, and related projects. They manage scheduled assignments with a focus on quality and safety compliance, coordinating resources efficiently. Team members conduct equipment inspections and adhere to safety standards, including OSHA guidelines. Effective communication and project management are essential to meet operational goals. This group plays a vital role in sustaining facility aesthetics and functionality, contributing to a well-maintained environment that supports business operations and enhances customer satisfaction.
What you'll do:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment using multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Lead and oversee work of less-experienced associates, providing hands-on training and guidance.
• Manage maintenance schedules, work orders, parts inventory, and contractor relationships to ensure quality and compliance.
• Operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles following safety and regulatory standards.
• Document maintenance activities, budget information, and warranty claims accurately.
• Identify hazards and take corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience in performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures using multiple craft skills such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Ability to diagnose issues using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs, and to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
• Experience managing work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor coordination.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in training, mentoring, and overseeing less-experienced associates.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with managers, vendors, and team members.

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00 - $63.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 3 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Option 2: 6 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
