Job Description Summary:

The Faculty at The University of Kansas Medical Center contributes to the educational, research, scholarly, and service missions of the School of Medicine. The faculty member supports the academic mission through teaching, curriculum development, scholarly activity, mentorship, and participation in institutional and academic initiatives within their area of expertise.

The faculty member actively participates in the education and mentorship of learners, including medical students, residents, fellows, graduate students, and other trainees, as appropriate. The individual also contributes to academic activities through teaching, scholarly engagement, research, committee service, program development, and other activities that advance the mission of the School of Medicine and the institution.

• Manage a panel of patients.
• Participate in research and scholarly activities with learners.
• Participate in clinical training opportunities with learners.
• Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement of educational programs.
• Engage in scholarly activities in the faculty member’s area of expertise, including research, publications, presentations, grants, or other academic contributions.
• Contribute to the development and advancement of academic programs, initiatives, and institutional priorities.

• Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain expertise within the faculty member’s area of academic specialization.

Required Qualifications

Education: Board Certified MD/DO.

This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.

Work Experience: 5 years of clinical practice.
