Accounting Intern

The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious ­­­­­Accounting Intern to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a remote position.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with AMS360 suspended billing cleanup, including reviewing outstanding items and supporting research and resolution.
• Support Comulate aged-item cleanup, including reviewing and closing outstanding items that could not previously be completed due to rolling integration dates.
• Assist with reviewing and organizing accounting-related backlogs to help establish greater process consistency.
• Support a LastPass login assessment to review system access and assist with maintaining accurate and organized login information.
• Assist with SharePoint cleanup and streamlining, including organizing files, reviewing existing content, and improving the accessibility of accounting resources.
• Review accounting records and system information for accuracy and completeness.
• Track progress on cleanup projects and help identify outstanding items requiring additional follow-up.
• Assist with documenting processes and procedures to create more consistent workflows.
• Collaborate with Accounting and other internal teams on special projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with data and identify inconsistencies or outstanding items.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Prior accounting or insurance experience is not required.
