Legal Counsel – Legal & Governance (Fixed Term 12-Months)

What you’ll do
As a Legal Counsel in Aurecon’s Legal & Governance team, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and solutions with people and outcomes in mind. 

- Advise on Aurecon’s project engagements (advisory, digital, consultancy) including contract review, negotiation and dispute management

- Provide legal, risk and governance advice as required to the business, including senior leadership

- Collaborate with client project teams and internal stakeholders across projects and enterprise functions

- Training on legal and governance matters to Aurecon employees

What you’ll bring

- You will be admitted to practice law in NSW or Victoria (based in Sydney or Melbourne), with 6 - 9 years PQE (ideally with a mix of private practice and in-house experience)

- Broad legal experience with consultancy services, advisory and/or infrastructure engagements, M&A due diligence and transaction agreements, financial services compliance, and experience with cyber, data and AI requirements.

- You will demonstrate the ability to make the complex simple and work with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, matrix organisation

- Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

- Commercial and pragmatic approach, with strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
