FIELD TECHNICIAN
WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW
- Salary: €45,000 – €49,000
- Permanent contract
- Location: Home-based (Frankfurt, Mannheim or Stuttgart region) with regional travel

ROLE DETAILS
If you enjoy being out in the field, solving technical challenges and seeing projects through from installation to completion, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing technical team supporting connectivity projects across Germany.
You'll play a key role in delivering, commissioning and maintaining network and telecommunications infrastructure at customer sites, ensuring every installation meets the highest technical and quality standards. Working alongside project teams, technical support specialists and installation partners, you'll take ownership of your projects while remaining hands-on throughout.
No two days are the same. One day you could be carrying out site surveys and commissioning new installations, while the next, you'll be fault-finding in live customer environments or supporting subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered successfully.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out site surveys, installations, testing and commissioning of Wi-Fi, data network and telecommunications equipment
- Diagnose faults and perform maintenance across customer network infrastructure
- Lead and support subcontracted installation teams while remaining technically hands-on
- Conduct on-site quality assurance inspections to ensure installations meet standards
- Work closely with Project Managers, NOC and Support teams to resolve technical issues
- Prepare installation documentation including surveys, risk assessments, method statements and commissioning records
- Manage stock, consumables and equipment required for installations
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience within IT, Networking or Telecommunications
- Hands-on experience installing and testing structured cabling including Ethernet, Fibre and Coax
- Experience commissioning network infrastructure and diagnosing faults
- Comfortable working on customer sites and coordinating contractors
- Strong communication skills with customers and internal stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
- Full German driving licence
- German language skills with good English communication skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- IT or Data Cabling qualification advantageous
- Experience using project management software such as MS Project beneficial
- Comfortable travelling throughout the region, including occasional overnight stays
- Flexible approach to working hours when projects require
- Structured, process-driven approach with strong attention to detail
