About you and this role
Using in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge, owns a moderately sized portfolio of solutions and systems (applications) and manages its lifecycle - analysis, design, implementation/adoption, optimization, and end-of-life retirement of digital solutions, delivering advanced functional and business capabilities. Works hand-in-hand with a multi-disciplinary IT expert team (analysts/designers/developers/support) to deliver innovative digital solutions. Performs a functional and technical requirements analysis – with emphasis on experience, simplification, automation, efficiency, reliability. Oversees the development, optimization, implementation and adoption of solutions leveraging best-in-class mobile, web, desktop, cloud technologies. Identifies opportunities for innovating with digital capabilities aiming to accelerate Dow’s digital transformation.
In this role, you will require in-depth conceptual and working knowledge of your discipline or functional area. You will need to understand your discipline's best practices and how they relate to others. You may need to lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements as well as serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues. You should also be able to explain difficult or sensitive information and work to build consensus with others.
It is your responsibility to analyze and resolve complex problems, examine information from multiple sources, and use judgement to evaluate established and new solutions. Your performance impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your own team and other related teams and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.
Responsibilities
- Own a portfolio of SAP Quality Management (QM) applications and related solutions supporting global manufacturing operations .
- Partner with quality process owners, business process experts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technology strategies, application enhancements, and solution roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
- Lead delivery of requirement analysis, solution design, enhancements, projects, system upgrades, testing cycles, and deployments for quality management applications .
- Provide functional leadership for complex application, process, data, and integration issues, ensuring timely resolution and operational continuity.
- Govern application lifecycle activities including support strategy, technical debt management, release planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with business, architecture, development, and support teams to ensure reliable end-to-end solution delivery and integration.
- Own production support outcomes, including incident prioritization, escalation management, and service restoration for critical quality and manufacturing systems.
- Govern release management, emergency changes, and environment coordination across integrated SAP and manufacturing systems.
- Ensure reliable integration across SAP and non-SAP quality and manufacturing applications, including SAP ECC/S/4HANA, quality management solutions, batch management systems, and other enterprise platform.
- Establish and monitor service performance measures, operational KPIs, and application health metrics to ensure application availability and business continuity.
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation, analytics, AI-enabled capabilities, and digital technologies to improve quality-related business processes and outcomes.
- Support portfolio planning, prioritization, resource management, and investment decisions for assigned solution areas.
- Provide technical and functional leadership, mentoring analysts and support resources and building capability across the QM application portfolio.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT discipline preferred or a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience supporting SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA Quality Management solutions, including inspection, quality data management, and quality execution processes .
- Experience leading or supporting SAP and non-SAP application portfolios, including custom solutions and integrated enterprise applications.
- Strong experience with production support models, including issue triage, escalation management, root cause analysis, and service reliability in a 24x7 environment
- Strong familiarity with system integrations, enterprise architectures, and cross-system data flows across quality and manufacturing applications
- Experience driving or leading automation, analytics, AI-enabled solutions, or digital transformation initiatives to improve quality processes and business outcomes
- The ability to accommodate a flexible schedule aligned with international time zones is essential.
Your Skills
- Deep understanding of manufacturing quality processes and enterprise quality management solutions, including how technology enables end-to-end quality execution.
- Extensive experience supporting SAP Quality Management (QM) and related manufacturing applications in a production support and delivery environment.
- Strong understanding of inspection processing, results recording, usage decisions, quality notifications, batch quality management, and quality reporting .
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, supportable technology solutions and long-term application strategies.
- Knowledge of SAP integrations, enterprise architecture principles, and application lifecycle management .
- Experience supporting high-availability manufacturing environments (24x7), including service reliability and operational continuity requirements .
- Strong understanding of SAP integration patterns (e.g., IDoc, interfaces, middleware) and enterprise data flows.
- Experience leading application support, incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence decisions and align cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor team members, lead knowledge transfer activities, and build functional and technical capability within the team.
