About the role:
We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Scheduler to join our Service Team based in Lae.
This role primarily exists to effectively plan and coordinate internal and external project activities within Hastings Deering. This involves analysis of the work required, modelling of the necessary resources and effort to do the job, and management of the agreed schedules in coordination with the various project managers and major business stakeholders.
Reporting to the Service Manager, your competency and experience will include:
- Ensure safety goals are achieved through personal commitment, no harm to self or others and participation in safety initiatives.
- Ensure business direction, team purpose and change agenda is understood, agreed to and work activities are aligned.
- Ensure agreed methods and measures are followed for reliable results for internal stakeholders
- Create accurate project and work plans for projects to be performed, taking into account resource availability and review with Service Manager and other stakeholders
- Develop schedule for future work, publish to the project team and monitor progress
- Initiate planning meetings with all relevant stakeholders to track progress of activities for communication to key stakeholders
- Ensure areas for continuous improvement are identified and discussed with Service Manager and stakeholders
- Coordinate deliverable due dates with the schedule and communicate gaps or issues to the key stakeholders
About You:
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
- Must have Grade 12 school certificate.
- Tertiary Qualifications, Certificate or Diploma in Business is desirable
- Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar products, parts and services
- Strong customer focus, good communication, negotiating, planning and organization skills
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge working with Microsoft Office and other programs.
