Position Summary: The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for recording, balancing, and paying vendor invoices. This position may perform other office / administrative functions as needed.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Match packing slips to invoices for accounts payable.
- Key into GL accounts payable batches and scan (manual code).
- Contact vendors to get POD's or answer questions.
- Invoice homes shipped daily and log in the database.
- Verify Escrow payment.
- Complete conditional lien releases for Escrow payments
- Call transporters for freight amounts.
- Key in freight for payment to dealer.
- Complete "State Authorization" form for all new dealers.
- Serve as back up for receptionist during lunch and breaks.
- Other duties as assigned, including administrative assistance support to other departments.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of clerical accounting experience with at least 6 months of accounts payable experience.
- Knowledge of accounts payable accounting techniques and methods.
- Familiarity with reconciliation techniques, filing procedure, and file maintenance.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, scanning, filing, and operating standard office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively via telephone, email, and in person.
- Visual ability to read invoices, financial documents, computer screens, and reports.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stooping to retrieve or file documents.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull office materials and files weighing up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to maintain concentration and accuracy while performing detailed clerical and accounting tasks.
Environmental Requirements
- Primarily works in a climate-controlled office environment.
- Regular exposure to standard office equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, scanners, telephones, and fax machines.
- Moderate noise level consistent with a typical business office environment.
- May have occasional interruptions due to phone calls, visitors, and employee inquiries.
- Limited exposure to physical hazards; work is generally performed in a safe indoor setting.
- May occasionally be required to move throughout the facility to communicate with team members or retrieve documentation.
