Job Title: Driver

Summary of Role
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Driver to support the safe and timely transportation of products, materials, and medical samples. This role is responsible for completing scheduled deliveries and collections, maintaining accurate transport records, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations, and delivering excellent service to customers while supporting operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned collections and deliveries in accordance with route schedules and service requirements.
- Verify shipment details and obtain required signatures or proof of delivery.
- Maintain accurate transport documentation and delivery records.
- Transport products, materials, and medical samples in line with handling requirements and transportation regulations.
- Communicate delivery updates, delays, and shipment issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Support loading, unloading, packaging, and labelling activities to ensure shipment integrity.
- Monitor vehicle condition and report maintenance issues or supply shortages promptly.
- Assist with specialised transport activities, including transfer-point, airport, hand-to-hand, and adjusted schedule deliveries as required.
Skills and Knowledge
- Full valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling documentation and deliveries.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to follow routes, schedules, and delivery procedures effectively.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and transportation regulations.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable and professional approach to work.
- Basic IT skills for recording and reporting delivery information.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a delivery, courier, logistics, or transport role.
- Experience handling healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical products.
- Knowledge of temperature-controlled transportation requirements.
- Familiarity with electronic proof-of-delivery systems.
- Understanding of transportation compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with route planning systems.
- Customer-facing service experience.
- Flexibility to support specialist delivery assignments when required.

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required. Less than 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, courier operations, delivery services, or a related field required. Certification in dangerous goods awareness, licensure in operation of the applicable vehicle class, cold chain handling, or equivalent required.What Cencora offers
