As a Director, Services Segment Management, you will lead a key services business segment, with responsibility for strategy, operational performance, financial management, and execution. You will oversee a team of leaders and individual contributors, ensuring resources are effectively aligned to business priorities while driving consistent results across service offerings, solutions, and technologies.
This role is accountable for business planning, performance management, risk mitigation, budgeting, and operational excellence within a complex, global environment. You will partner across functions to monitor business metrics, implement policies and processes, and build organizational capability through effective talent development and workforce planning.
Responsibilities
• Manages the services segment management function for a mid-sized, complex business, or oversees a significant sub-function for one of the organization’s extensive and complex businesses.
• Formulates and spearheads the conception, planning, execution, communication, and delivery of the organization's services segment management undertakings within the purview of responsibility across the entirety of the corporate structure.
• Assumes responsibility for steering a cohort of managers and individual contributors engaged in services segment management operations, establishing comprehensive project directives, sanctioning financial and human capital allotments for initiatives and projects.
• Oversees the performance of business metrics related to both products and services, such as attach rates, penetration, revenue, and Total Customer Experience (TCE), while also developing recovery plans to address any exceptional issues.
• Directs the overall performance of a diverse range of service products, solutions, technologies, and business segments, which constitute a significant portion of the total business.
• Guides the progression and implementation of strategic choices and organizational policies, identifies consequences of decisions on a regional or global scale, offering pertinent remedies and avenues for enhancement.
• Leads initiatives for process enhancement and policy development that impact services segment management function on a sub-regional or regional scale, while also extending guidance on service programs of the highest complexity.
• Formulates, oversees, and executes the budget for the function, anticipates fund requirements and monitors expenditures for a sizable and complex business at a country level.
• Oversees operational success, aligns strategies, and integrates activities with major organizational functions, setting policies and owning numerous measurable goals.
• Performs talent management responsibilities including recruitment, performance management, coaching and career development.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 12+ years of service segment management or related experience, preferably in service business management, delivery, solution architecting, or business planning.
• Strong business management acumen, including ownership of financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
• Track record of driving operational excellence through process improvement, performance management, and execution of strategic initiatives.
• Experience managing business performance metrics and translating data into actionable plans that improve revenue, customer outcomes, and operational results.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, including managers and individual contributors, through coaching, talent planning, and organizational development.
• Exceptional cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence strategy, align priorities, and drive execution across diverse business groups.
