Nursing Services Manager

Franklin General Hospital (FGH) is seeking an experienced and collaborative Nursing Services Manager to lead nursing operations across our Medical/Surgical, Swing Bed, Emergency Department, and Outpatient Infusion/Wound Care services.

Position Summary

The Nursing Services Manager is responsible for the organization, management, and direction of patient care services within assigned departments. Working closely with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), this leader supports clinical excellence, staff development, quality improvement, operational performance, and patient-centered care while serving as a role model for nursing professionalism and FGH values.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for Med/Surg, Swing Bed, Emergency Department, and Infusion/Wound Care services.
• Supervise, coach, mentor, and evaluate nursing personnel.
• Support quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and patient advocacy initiatives.
• Assist with departmental planning, budgeting, staffing, productivity, and performance management.
• Promote a positive work environment and strong interdisciplinary relationships.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, infection prevention standards, OSHA requirements, and best practices.
• Collaborate with providers, department leaders, and the Quality Director to improve patient outcomes and service excellence.
• Respond effectively to operational and clinical challenges, including emergency situations.
• Provide direct patient care as needed to support staffing requirements.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• BSN preferred.
• Progressive nursing leadership experience preferred.
• Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Commitment to patient-centered care, staff development, and quality improvement.

Reports To: Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
In the Absence of the CNO: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Supervises

Med/Surg, Emergency Department, Outpatient Infusion, and Wound Care personnel.
