DevOps Engineer (Mid-level), Nicosia, Cyprus

On behalf of our client, we're looking for a mid-level DevOps Engineer who can build and run production AWS infrastructure as code and grow into owning workstreams on real client engagements. You will join our client's highly professional team in Nicosia, Cyprus.  You'll work alongside a lead, shipping changes through pipelines rather than clicking around consoles, and keeping live client platforms healthy, secure and cost-efficient. Every engineer sits close to real client outcomes.

Our client builds, secures and operates cloud platforms for enterprise and regulated organisations across banking, telecoms and healthcare, as well as fast-growing scale-ups. They're a profitable, engineering-led business that's growing quickly, with partnerships including AWS (Advanced Tier), Cloudflare (Powered+), Elastic and Microsoft. 

About the role:

This is hands-on, client-facing work. In most client meetings, the company's engineers are the most cloud-literate people in the room. You'll often be the one explaining how something works to a team that's newer to cloud than you are. If you enjoy sharing your knowledge, this is for you.

What you'll do:

• Build platforms on the cloud for enterprise clients, working to a defined scope alongside a lead
• Write and review Terraform, and ship changes through CI/CD pipelines, not through the console
• Run managed services for live client platforms: monitoring, alerting, patching, plus cost and security posture improvements
• Join client calls with a lead present, take technical actions away, and close them out
• Explain how things work to client teams who are newer to cloud than you are
• Write up what was built so the client and the team can operate it
• Rotate across several clients rather than sitting on one internal system

What you'll bring:

• 3–5 years hands-on operating cloud infrastructure in production, on AWS or Azure
• Real Terraform experience. Modules, state management, environments and reviews (any other IaC tool is acceptable)
• Containers in production: Kubernetes (EKS or AKS) or ECS
• CI/CD pipeline work you personally built or maintained (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps or similar)
• Scripting or coding in at least one of Python, Go, TypeScript or Bash, enough to automate and debug
• Solid written and spoken English; client emails and documentation are part of the job
• Based in Nicosia (preferred)

Nice to have:

• Greek speaking: much of the Cyprus and Greece client base works in Greek
• AWS Associate or Professional certification, or the Azure equivalent
• Monitoring and observability tooling: CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic or Datadog
• Networking fundamentals: VPCs, DNS, TLS, load balancing, firewalls
• Any exposure to regulated environments (finance, health, telco) or to consultancy work
• Linux systems depth
