Purpose of Position:

A Family and Child Therapist at Catholic Charities:

· Complete clinical interviews, treatment planning and biopsychosocial assessments for a caseload of families experiencing homelessness.

· Conduct evidence-based mental health counseling, in individual, group and family sessions.

· Acts as an advocate for participants and/or participant systems when appropriate.

· Develop comprehensive treatment plans, monitor treatment progress and provide participants with follow-up at disposition times.

· Provide clinical services to those experiencing comorbidity with mental/behavioral health and substance use disorders, as well as severe and persistent mental illness.

· Assist participants with psychological and social development.

· Performs appropriate case management based upon accepted standards and program policies.

· Perform 27-10 (M-1) “mental health hold” evaluations.

· Documents participant contacts and progress in accordance with accepted charting standards. 

· Establishes and maintains relationships with referral sources and community agents.

· Provide and participate in clinical supervision with team members, interns, and staff as needed.

· Supports, promotes, and adheres to Catholic Charities’ vision, mission, values and Code of Ethics.

· Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.

· Maintains confidentiality of participant and agency information.

· Regular and predictable attendance.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS 

· Possession of a terminal clinical license in Colorado through DORA. 

· Meet all training requirements to provide clinical supervision through DORA.

· A minimum of two years experience providing child and family therapy.

· Demonstrates strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. 

· Strong family and trauma therapy skills

· Strong crisis assessment and management skills

· Ability to work flexible hours.

· Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the participant population.

· Flexible and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 

· Requires knowledge of computers to input data, write communications and generate reports 

· Demonstrate skills and sensitivity to the cultural/linguistic differences of staff, participants, and community.

· Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse participant base.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Minimum of three years’ experience in clinical social work or related field. 

Experience with working with children, families and moderate to severe and persistently mentally ill populations. 

Master's or Doctoral Degree in social work, clinical counseling, marriage and family therapy, or similar field. 

Current terminal license as a LCSW/LPC/LMFT/LP in the State of Colorado through DORA. 



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

  • Terminal clinical license master’s or doctoral degree in social work, professional counseling, or marriage & family therapy.
  • Completed DORA approved training to provide clinical supervision 

 COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary: $70,000-$90,000 per year. 

Training: We provide a robust training curriculum that will support our employees throughout their career. Training provided within the first year of employment includes: De-escalation & Safety; Mental Health First Aid; Substance Abuse & Mental Health; Human Trafficking; Trauma Informed Care; and many more.

  • Extensive Paid Time Off (4 weeks accrual for new employees - increasing based on tenure) promoting work life balance.
  • 15 Paid Holidays annually (shelters are 24/7, so if a holiday is worked, holiday pay is in included.)
  • Sabbatical Leave Program: Employees who have completed seven years of continuous full-time service are eligible for a paid sabbatical leave to support rest, renewal, and professional or personal growth. Eligible staff may take 4 weeks of sabbatical leave. 
  • 403b Retirement Plan with Agency contribution of 4% & match up to 2% of annual compensation.
  • Choice of 3 PPO Medical Plans (90% of employee's and 75% of dependent’s premiums is paid by Agency), Dental, & Vision starting the 1st day of the month following start date.
  • May be eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through Federal Student Loans and many more benefits.

**Part-time employees (20-29 hours per week) also receive paid annual leave, company paid holidays, and 403b retirement plan with agency contribution and match.
