HR Generalist

Description

• Consulting with business unit management and providing HR guidance when appropriate
• Providing day‑to‑day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions) under the guidance of the HR director, and supporting the employee performance evaluation process
• Working closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
• Assisting in resolving complex employee relations issues under the guidance of the HR director
• Assisting in conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations
• Providing guidance and input on staffing, compensation, business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning
• Assisting in identifying training needs for business units and individual coaching needs
• Maintaining a strong working knowledge of legal requirements related to day‑to‑day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance
• Partnering with the HR director and legal department as needed or required
• Assessing trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies
• Providing HR policy guidance and interpretation, and responding to employee questions regarding company policies, procedures, and work‑related problems
• Exercising judgment in providing pertinent information and assistance to authorized company personnel
• Leading new employee orientation and the exit interview process
• Updating employee databases, compiling personnel statistics and reports, and preparing forms and presentations as required
• Counseling employees regarding benefit eligibility and coverage
• Acting as the front‑line resource for employee benefits questions
• Preparing workers compensation and unemployment claims
• Supporting salary planning processes and reviewing pay, classification, and grade changes for conformance with policy
• Assisting with writing job descriptions, employee notifications, and announcements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and three years of work related experience

Desired Skills

• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification and/or Society of Human Resources Management- Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
