Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Quality Analyst/ Sr. Principal Quality Analyst– Level 3 or Level 4 to join our team in Sykesville, MD.  This position will support the AMC Restricted Operating Unit within the Advanced Mission Capabilities Business Unit. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

The ideal candidate must be able to communicate written and verbally, pay attention to detail, and have a project management skill set.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. 
• Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. 
• Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. 
• Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. 
• Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.
• Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducting quality assurance tests; and performing statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
• Works from engineering drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, inspection instructions, other documentation (manufacturing procedures) and checklists to ensure items meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Creation of data/sell-off packages for Source Inspection.
• Interfaces with customer for Source Inspection.
• Assists with nonconformance management, Material Review Boards, and Corrective Action Board generation.

Basic Qualifications – Level 3

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or contracts; OR a Master's degree and 3 years of experience in quality, manufacturing or contracts; OR an Associates Degree with 7 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or contracts; OR 9 years of quality, manufacturing, or contract experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
• Experience with configuration control, nonconformance reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action in an aerospace environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance
• US Citizenship required

Basic Qualifications – Level 4

• Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or contracts; OR a Master's degree and 6 years of experience in quality, manufacturing or contracts; OR an Associates Degree with 10 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or contracts; OR 12 years of quality, manufacturing, or contract experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
• Experience with configuration control, nonconformance reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action in an aerospace environment
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance
• US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).
• Experience in at least one of the following standards (IPC, J-Std, MIL-STD)
• Experience in writing Northrop Grumman documentation
• Familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001, AS9102 FAI, and/or customer-specific quality management system requirements.
• Experience presenting and interacting with customers such as DCMA/Military customers/foreign nationals.
• Experience with MES, SAP, PROP and other NGC systems.
• Familiarity with Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).
• PR/MR Authority
• Experience leading cross-functional teams to resolve problems or issues
• Experience using Microsoft Excel, Minitab or equivalent tools for statistical analysis

 

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,900.00 - $134,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $168,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
