Under the direction of a pharmacist and in coordination with other technicians, the Pharmacy Technician Apprentice is responsible for packaging, preparation, and distribution of medications, inventory control, customer service and maintaining pharmacy records. The Technician must comply with all rules and regulations of the hospital and pharmacy department. Must maintain registration with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacy Technician Trainee through an Ohio Public High School Approved Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
Position Summary
This position functions to assist the licensed pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical services to patients and necessary services and information to nursing and medical staff. These services include preparation and packaging of medications; distribution of medications, supplies, and equipment; maintaining proper inventory levels; ensuring medications are in date and secure; and keeping appropriate records and documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Registration with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacy Technician Trainee through an Ohio Public High School Approved Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
Must be at least 17 years of age.
