The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.
## The impact you’ll make
As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.
In this role, you will directly contribute to CSBG NSR organization for NSR quotes and Design Execution
## What you’ll do
Provide Engineering quotation for Non-Standard Request (NSR) System
- * Design and develop Upgrade / Retrofit kits as per customer requirements
- Participates in the conceptualization, modeling, analysis, development, documentation, and test/validation of hardware associated new designs
- Able to scope NSR requirements through scoping review meeting for module conversion projects, (impacting SW, EE, ME)
- Understand Audit details provided from Account team / Sales operations
- Perform Order BOM review to check current configuration v/s requirements
- Review and approve changes to product configuration through ECR
- Interact with Customer Account Team, Sales operations and Product Groups
- Provide technical solution to obsolescence issues and analyze impact ofobsolescence on various product configurations
- Designs components using variety of metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings.
## Who we’re looking for
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 2+ years of experience
- Proficient in CAD tools such as CREO, Siemens NX, Auto CAD
- Proficient in concept design and development of complex components/sub-system uses various Engineering/Quality/Analysis tools/DFx/processes to arrive at design decisions and validation through testing/prototyping
- Ability to perform critical review & approval of medium complex design models/ layouts/ documentation
- Knowledge in product structuring and configuration management
- Working experience in SAP R3
- Excellent communication and Presentation skill
- Hands-on experimental and design background coupled with engineering skills.
- This is a graduate eligible role.
## Preferred qualifications
- Experience in selection of OEM components, setting up equipment for experimentation / testing in laboratory environment, setting up safe practices
- Experience with capital equipment, or similar (for e.g., process industries, aircraft, etc.) industry in a sub-system / module design project
- Knowledge of Quick base development is an added advantage
