Sr. Engineer- mechanical

## What you’ll do:

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and execute various cost out projects related Aluminum, Copper and other non ferrous raw Materials as part Direct Material Productivity (DMP) team. This involves close collaboration with Global Procurement Organization & Product divisions to generate cost out opportunities. The applicant will be responsible for working on various aspects of Direct Material Productivity with the primary goal of identifying, developing, and maintaining services that deliver significant cost optimization opportunities as well as creating a robust pipeline of executable cost optimization projects. The applicant should have capability to analyze commodity spend data & leverage data analytics & ideation principles to create new project opportunities. The incumbent needs to have an in-depth knowledge of requirements related to electrical components design and applications.

A. Execute the enterprise wide strategic projects for Aluminum, Copper and other non-ferrous raw materials and components made from them such as Stampings, Fabrication categories working along with Global Procurement Leaders

B. Execute VAVE, Resourcing, Negotiation, and Part Rationalization initiatives to achieve cost-out targets.

C. Generate technically and commercially viable cost reduction ideas to enhance product competitiveness.

D. Drive productivity through supplier consolidation, data quality improvements, and reduction of part proliferation

E. Participate in supplier, plant level discussions to identify innovative solutions and cost-out opportunities.

F. Participate in supplier discussions to generate new ideas and solution to gain cost out

G. Analyze commodity spend data and leverage data analytics to create productivity project pipelines

H. Collaborate globally with Procurement, Product Engineering, and Suppliers to deliver savings and category productivity goals.

I. Partner with Product Engineering teams to evaluate material substitutions, design optimization, standardization, and value engineering opportunities while ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.

J. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on lead time reduction, scrap optimization, process efficiency, and cost productivity across the supply base and manufacturing operations.

K. Support annual capacity plans, productivity commitments, and strategic sourcing roadmaps.

L.Influence global stakeholders across Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Supply Chain functions to align priorities and accelerate execution of enterprise-wide productivity initiatives.

## Qualifications:

• Minimum education for this position is a Bachelor / Masters in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, with demonstrated experience in technical engineering organization. (Preferably worked in Electrical industry).
• 5-7 years of experience with multinational engineering organization.

## Skills:

• Hands on knowledge of Value Engineering principles & its deployment, Should be capable of applying the electrical design basics, product concepts for new cost out opportunities.
• Work & interact with global cross-functional and cross-cultural team. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to clearly communicate to internal/external customers and suppliers.
