A Day in the Life
As a Clinical Research Associate, you will be responsible for monitoring clinical research conducted at investigational sites to ensure compliance with study protocols, applicable regulatory requirements, the policies of the ethics committee, and Medtronic procedures.You will work closely with Medtronic study management teams as well as site staff to resolve issues and ensure the smooth conduct of clinical studies. You would ideally be based in Lisboa. The role also covers Iberia, and travel should be expected within Spain and Portugal.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Monitors the progress of clinical trials at site or headquarters level, ensuring they are conducted, documented, and reported according to the protocol, SOPs, GCP, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Develops and maintains relationships with clinical investigators, CROs, affiliated hospitals, and research institutions to support the initiation and advancement of clinical studies
- Reviews adverse event cases with investigators and monitors study timelines, budgets, and schedules
- Prepares study documentation and issues status reports as needed
- Assists with the design, development, and monitoring of clinical evaluation projects
- Trains investigators and site personnel, including both headquarters and field clinical research associates
- Supports the clinical development strategy, identifies and recommends qualified investigators, initiates clinical trials, and helps ensure patient recruitment and retention
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Baccalaureate degree in Clinical Research, Engineering, or Life Sciences
- At least 2 years of experience as a Clinical researcher monitor in the Medical device industry
- Fluent in English and Portuguese, both spoken and written, Spanish will be a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable working in a team
- Ability to identify priorities and manage deadlines across multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with IT tools, applications, and Microsoft Office
- One to four years of experience in clinical research, with knowledge of applicable regulations and standards, the healthcare industry, medical terminology, and problem-solving skills
