Education

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, finance, economics, or related field is required.
  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field preferred.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven years' experience in healthcare administration is required.
  • Experience working for or partnering with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is preferred.
  • Must be a strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to analyze complex programs.
  • Knowledge of hospital and managed care finance, with extensive knowledge regarding federal and state programs and CMS guidelines.
  • Experience with data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, including the ability to interpret complex data and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience with formal presentations.
  • Team player with proven ability to develop strong working relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent project management skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and oversee multiple initiatives.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and company proprietary information.

Position Summary

The Director of Revenue Strategy supports Jupiter Medical Center (JMC) through data analysis, program evaluation, and strategic advisory pertaining to federal and state healthcare programs. The position plays a critical role in advancing decision-making, supporting programmatic compliance, and delivering actionable insights relating to JMC’s participation in various programs and opportunities.

Additional responsibilities are outlined below:

  • Develop and implement the strategy, objectives, techniques, and tactics to achieve the strategic goals of the Organization.
  • Perform advanced data analysis to evaluate the performance of complex programs and make clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Lead process and outcome evaluations of performance in state and federally funded healthcare programs in which JMC participates, assessing program effectiveness, implementation effectiveness, and optimization opportunities.
  • Evaluate the impact of proposed and final OPPS and IPPS rules, and lead the formulation of strategies to address program changes over time.
  • Evaluate the requirements of programs such as the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) program and ensure JMC is enhancing its performance in the program.
  • Serve as the facilitator over data inputs to satisfy annual cost reporting requirements in partnership with third party vendors who complete the cost report.
  • Maintain relationships with third party vendors who support JMC’s involvement with state and federal programs, from a reimbursement perspective.
  • Stay abreast of changes in healthcare regulations and industry trends, including the strategic direction of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), and recommend adjustments to JMC strategies that anticipate changes that are forthcoming and will positively influence the delivery of healthcare at JMC.
  • Analyze data and financial metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Evaluate quality improvement strategies to enhance patient care delivery, enhance reimbursement for services provided, and improve desired outcomes. 
  • Serve as the content expert for state and federal programs in which JMC is participating, including but not limited to impacts associated with the rural floor budget neutrality factor, the Florida Hospital Uniform Reporting System (FHURS) and required reporting, the Low Income Pool (LIP) program, the impact of the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) program, the Medicaid Directed Payment Program, and the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) programs.
  • Understand and enforce hospital and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Effectively uses and role models current management techniques and theories, encouraging the decision-making skills of staff members and providing insight and leadership in complex situations.
  • Supervises the development of service policies, procedures, and operating guidelines.  Collaborates with other services within the division.  Ensures that information is disseminated to staff is monitored for effectiveness and changed as needed.
  • Understands and enforces all hospital and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Lead and/or serve on hospital and Patient Care Services committees, teams, and work groups as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Requires sitting for long periods of time, also stooping, bending, standing and stretching.  May require lifting up to 20 lbs.   Must have manual dexterity for typing and computer data entry.  Able to work under a stressful environment, work independently, capable of making sound decisions, be detail oriented, alert and self motivated.
