Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Overtime as required)
Position Summary
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Inventory and Warehouse Supervisor to oversee warehouse operations, inventory management, shipping and receiving, and e-commerce fulfillment. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, optimizing warehouse operations, supporting production requirements, and managing online store inventory while leading the shipping and warehouse team.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in warehouse and inventory management within a manufacturing environment, combined with expertise in ERP systems, e-commerce fulfillment, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Oversee the organization, maintenance, and optimization of all warehouse and inventory storage areas, including interior warehouse space, exterior storage, containers, roll ports, and production work cells.
- Develop and implement warehouse policies, procedures, and standards for inventory handling, storage, and material movement.
- Optimize warehouse layout and storage utilization to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, mid-year, and year-end cycle counts.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies in collaboration with the Engineering ERP team.
- Recommend and implement inventory control improvements, including Kanban or similar inventory management systems.
- Review warehouse organization, barcoding processes, staffing requirements, and operational procedures to improve production throughput and inventory accuracy.
Production & Purchasing Coordination
- Work closely with Production to ensure materials are available to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure purchase orders are placed and delivered on time, preventing material shortages.
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively communicate critical stock shortages to Purchasing for vendor follow-up.
- Coordinate inventory requirements with production work cells and ensure materials are delivered according to production schedules.
- Ensure purchase requisitions are submitted promptly to support production demands and maintain minimum inventory levels.
Shipping, Receiving & Logistics
- Oversee all inbound and outbound shipping and receiving activities.
- Ensure inbound inventory is received, verified, and properly stored on the same day whenever possible.
- Supervise order picking, packing, and shipping activities for Canadian and U.S. customers while maintaining quality control standards.
- Coordinate shipment of complete system orders, ensuring materials meet order specifications and documenting shipments with photographs for customer records.
- Manage raw material and finished goods inventory transactions within the ERP system.
E-Commerce Inventory Management
- Manage inventory for the company's online store, ensuring accurate inventory availability and timely stock replenishment.
- Coordinate inventory transfers between warehouse inventory and online sales inventory to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Process and close online orders within the ERP system immediately following shipment.
- Support the ongoing development and enhancement of e-commerce operations, including integration with freight and shipping applications.
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise warehouse, shipping, and receiving personnel by providing daily direction, coaching, and support.
- Train team members on warehouse processes, ERP systems, Shopify, shipping software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and support ongoing professional development.
- Foster a safe, organized, and productive work environment while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, logistics processes, and customer service.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and other departments to improve operational efficiency.
- Support inventory forecasting and planning to ensure stock levels meet production and customer demand.
Qualifications
Education
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
· Diploma in E-Commerce or a related field.
Experience
· Minimum of 10 years of warehouse and inventory management experience within a manufacturing environment.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience managing an e-commerce store integrated with manufacturing operations.
· Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience processing Shopify orders.
· Experience working in an online startup environment is considered an asset.
Technical Skills
· Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
· Experience working with ERP systems; knowledge of VISUAL Manufacturing is considered an asset.
· Experience with Shopify and e-commerce inventory management.
· Strong understanding of inventory planning, parts fulfillment, and production material flow.
· Ability to optimize warehouse organization and storage utilization.
