The role of the Welding and Machining PSSR Consultant is to help our clients achieve success in their company as our client's measure success. We do this using the full resources of Wheeler Machinery Co., always maintaining a strict adherence to honesty, integrity, and a sincere approach. Examples being, to assist the client in lowering owning and operating costs, to help increase productivity, utilization, and uptime.

As part of this commitment, we connect clients with Wheeler's full welding and machining capabilities to keep their equipment running at peak performance, including:

• On-site field welding for repairs that can't wait for equipment to come off the job
• In-shop welding and structural repair for more extensive fabrication or rebuild work
• Precision machining of critical components to OEM tolerances, minimizing downtime from part replacement delays
• Custom fabrication of parts and attachments tailored to a client's specific application or equipment configuration
• Wear part rebuilding and hard facing to extend component life and reduce long-term replacement costs

Duties and Responsibilities

• Client Relations – Spends sufficient time with clients to develop and maintain a good working relationship. Need to be able to develop a relationship built on the foundation of trust, honesty and Integrity. Understand every possible aspect of the client’s business. After consulting with the client, devise plans using the resources of Wheeler Machinery Co. to reduce expense, increase efficiencies, receive full value from any and all equipment they own, rent or otherwise use and help them achieve success in the way or form they measure success. Responds to client complaints in a timely and professional manner. Resolves problems within company guidelines in a manner that results in our client’s satisfaction.
• Responsiveness to Job Demands – Accepts full responsibility for everything in his/her area. Will not “pass the buck” if something goes wrong. Takes care of all details and accepts the broader responsibilities.
• Interpersonal Relations – Has fine social skills and uses them effectively. Has good insight into people and readily adapts to them. Communication style is warm, friendly, and sincere.
• Relations with Supervisor – Follows directions well and pays close attention to what is said. Can be depended upon to act appropriately and cover all facets of an assignment. Seeks advice when appropriate. Benefits from criticism.
• Practical Judgment – Handle’s problems effectively. Considers alternatives and usually selects the most appropriate one. Able to solve difficult and complex problems.
• Marketing Strategy – The PSSR is responsible to understand the client’s business and to identify opportunities to grow our current level of business in all area’s Wheeler has support for those clients. Examples are:

• Time Utilization – Uses time well. Rarely misses a deadline. Handles extra time demands in stride. Does not waste time.
• Use of Company Resources – Use of company CRM, (Currently using Sales Link), parts and services quoting tools, Options Group, Condition Monitoring Analysts, etc.
• Continual Maintenance of Client Machine Population - OLGA plays a significant role in our day-to-day interactions with our clients as well as determining focused direction for marketing and support programs. It is critical we have as accurate a representation as possible of our client’s machine population in our CRM data base. This is also a large part of the scoring for the dealership with Caterpillar.
• Assignments and Projects – Accepts assignments with a positive attitude and completes those assignments in a timely manner. Devotes full energy and cooperation towards corporate goals and the completion of projects he or she is assigned.
• Budget Management and Forecasts – Supports and conforms to department budget goals. Budget requests are submitted to manager in a complete and timely manner. Controls expense levels within budgeted parameters.
• Ability to Cooperate – Cooperates fully with other departments to reach company goals. Sees the big picture clearly.
• As a PSSR, your salary is based on your performance and compliance with the above skills and competencies.

Qualifications

• Understands and demonstrates safe working practices.
• 3-5 years’ understanding of and technical experience with Caterpillar equipment.
• 3-5 years’ experience in the construction industry.
• Working & competent experience and understanding with Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Be willing to offer suggestions and ideas to increase department effectiveness.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• (Preferred) experience and clear understanding of Uptake suite of CRM software, Sales Link, Parts & Service Quoter (PSQ).
• (Preferred) training with time management skills.
• (Preferred) training in consultative selling skills.
• (Preferred) Understanding of Caterpillar warranty guidelines.
