Job Description
What is the Opportunity?
Are you a bold marketer who leads with strategy, has a keen eye for creative and understands how to deliver outcomes for both brand and business? We’re looking for a Senior Manager to join our Everyday Banking Marketing team, responsible for building the big, integrated campaigns that keep RBC front of mind 365 days a year. At the core of this role is a mandate to drive new-to-bank acquisition: attracting new customers to RBC and making the case for why banking with us is simply better. This is a role for someone who doesn’t just execute campaigns; they architect them. Someone who challenges the status quo, champions the consumer voice, and drives ideas from strategy to execution.
You’ll own 2–4 mass integrated campaigns per year for our Everyday Banking core team, leading every element from strategic brief to final asset delivery. If you love the energy of always-on marketing, thrive in a fast-paced work environment and know how to bring the best out of agency partners and internal stakeholders alike, this is the role for you.
What will you do?
Drive new-to-bank acquisition: Lead go-to-market campaigns with a primary focus on acquiring new customers for RBC’s Everyday Banking products, sharpening our acquisition strategy, messaging, and channel approach to win in a highly competitive market.
Lead mass integrated campaigns end-to-end: Own 2–4 mass integrated campaigns per year for the Everyday Banking core team, ensuring continuous presence in market and seamless transitions between campaign phases.
Challenge the status quo: Consistently challenge and evolve our go-to-market approach as the marketing landscape changes, evolve our channel mix, and connect with customers in more relevant, unexpected ways.
Build the strategic narrative: Help craft the overarching campaign strategy and messaging framework, ensuring every element ladders up to a cohesive brand and business story.
Manage large-scale budgets: Take full ownership of significant marketing budgets across multiple simultaneous campaigns, ensuring spend is optimized, tracked with rigour, and reported accurately.
Lead stakeholder relationships: Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal teams across the bank as well as external agencies and strategic partners.
Drive social and digital-first thinking: Champion social and digital channels in campaign planning, ensuring ideas are conceived with a digital-first lens and built to perform across platforms.
Leverage data and insights: Use data and consumer insights to inform creative decisions, optimize campaign performance, and sharpen future go-to-market strategies.
Bring an eye for creative detail: Review and approve creative assets with precision, ensuring quality, brand alignment, and strategic accuracy at every touchpoint.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously: Keep multiple campaigns and workstreams moving in parallel without losing sight of deadlines, dependencies, or details.
Culture & Growth: Directly manage a marketing coordinator, providing clear direction, regular coaching, and meaningful development opportunities with a genuine commitment to growing new talent into high-performing marketers.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
1-2 years of proven experience leading mass integrated marketing campaigns from strategy through execution, with a desire to deepen and hone those skills.
Strong project management skills, you can manage multiple complex projects at once without dropping the ball.
Proven capability to own complex, muti-channel and integrated marketing campaign end-to-end with minimal oversight.
Experience managing large-scale marketing budgets across concurrent campaigns.
Social and digital expertise, you know how to build campaigns that are social and digital-first, not as an afterthought.
Stakeholder management skills, you build trust quickly, communicate with clarity, and navigate complex organizational dynamics with ease.
Partnership management experience, you’ve managed external brand relationships and understand the nuances of co-marketing.
Strategic thinking ability, you can synthesize information, identify the right insight, and craft a compelling strategic narrative.
Strong creative judgment, you have a sharp eye for detail, especially when reviewing creative work, and can give clear, actionable feedback.
Data literacy, you know how to use data and insights to make smarter creative and channel decisions.
An ownership mindset, you take accountability for outcomes, not just activities, and want to be the person others look to when the pressure is on.
A challenger mentality, you question the status quo, advocate for better, and aren’t afraid to push back when the brief could be stronger.
People leadership and coaching ability, you’ve managed or mentored junior talent and know how to give feedback, set direction, and create the conditions for someone early in their career to grow quickly into a high performer.
Nice-to-have:
Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
Familiarity with media planning and buying across mass channels (TV, OOH, audio, digital video).
Experience working on national campaigns within a large matrixed organization.
Background in content strategy or social-first campaign design.
What’s in it for you?
The chance to own and lead some of RBC’s most visible consumer marketing, campaigns seen by millions of Canadians every year.
A seat at the table in a high-performing, senior marketing team that values big thinking, creative ambition, and strategic rigour.
Hands-on experience managing a marquee external partnership and influencing how one of Canada’s biggest brands shows up in market.
A culture that encourages you to challenge the norm, bring new ideas, and evolve how we go to market.
Meaningful collaboration across the bank with product, technology, digital, and agency teams who are all invested in getting it right.
Competitive compensation, benefits, and development opportunities within one of Canada’s largest and most respected financial institutions.
