Overview

The Certified Medical Assistant position is under the supervision physician. The CMA to the Physician is responsible for providing direct or indirect care to patients who present with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems; utilizes knowledge of basic Medical Assistant principals, practices and ethics; participates in the organization and management of the physician's practice.

 

Our Urgent Care employees primary do three 12 hour shifts with an upgraded accrual rate to accommodate and support weekend and holiday work. We are looking for staff that is dependable and flexible and enjoys seeing something new everyday.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist physician in setting up for procedures and exams, revising daily schedules; obtaining charts and charge tickets, locating lab tests and X-ray reports
  • Ensure that patient chart/EMR entries are made accurately and in a timely manner
  • Contact pharmacy to order new and refill prescriptions; notify patient; document appropriately
  • Notify outside facilities or personnel of physician's orders

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training
  • CPR Certified
  • EMR Experience, preferred
  • Prior Urgent Care experience, preferred
