We are seeking a Director of Operations to lead our manufacturing and engineering organizations. This executive leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily operations while developing and executing long-term strategies that improve efficiency, quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will provide direction for Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other operational functions while driving engineering initiatives that support innovation, automation, continuous improvement, and business growth.
Requirements
- Develop and execute operational and engineering strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Lead Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other operational departments to achieve business goals.
- Manage and mentor engineering teams, fostering innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.
- Drive engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Lead new product introductions, manufacturing optimization, automation initiatives, process improvements, and capital equipment projects.
- Monitor operational, engineering, financial, and quality metrics to make data-driven business decisions.
- Develop and maintain operational policies, engineering standards, and best practices.
- Manage budgets, capital planning, and resource allocation to support organizational growth.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity through Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, organizational growth, and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, vendors, and strategic business partners.
- Prepare and present operational and strategic performance updates to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in operations management or process engineering, or a related field required; Plastics engineering or an advanced degree preferred.
- 8–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, engineering, or operations.
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior management or director-level leadership role.
- Demonstrated success managing engineering teams and cross-functional manufacturing organizations.
- Experience leading engineering projects, capital improvements, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, project management, and operational excellence methodologies.
- Experience managing budgets, operational performance, and financial metrics.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, manufacturing software, engineering systems, and business analytics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
