SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to poultry producers caring for company-owned birds, ensuring proper bird care, comfort, and overall flock performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising producers on building and equipment specifications, litter management, and farm sanitation practices.
- Conducting routine farm visits and documenting bird comfort, flock management, and equipment settings.
- Monitoring bird health and recommending corrective actions when appropriate.
- Tracking feed consumption and coordinating feed orders as needed.
- Collecting blood and fat samples on schedule when required.
- Coordinating chick placements and assisting with catch schedules.
- Ensuring effective communication between hatchery, feed mill, live haul, and contract growers.
- Supporting compliance with production contracts to help achieve the highest flock quality at the lowest possible cost.
- Ensuring compliance with all USDA and applicable government regulations related to poultry handling and production.
- Collaborating with Broiler and Breeder Departments to coordinate weekly chick placements.
- Performing additional duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
Experience: 1 plus years
Computer Skills: Elementary computer skills such as checking electronic mail entering data into document templates or creating simple queries.
Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year.
