Description
DRMP is a fast-growing transportation engineering firm with deep expertise in bridge design, structures, and infrastructure solutions. We're expanding our technical team, and we need a Senior Bridge Engineer who can handle complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business development.
What you will lead:
- Develop structural calculations, produce engineering drawings, and deliver technical reports for complex DOT and transportation structure projects.
- Work on both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods.
- Perform and direct engineering alternatives investigations.
- Analyze data, perform calculations, and evaluate solutions that balance technical excellence with practical delivery.
Mentor & Develop Junior Engineers
- Train junior engineers in design methodology, problem-solving, and technical excellence.
- Guide project teams and share your expertise.
- Shape the next generation of bridge engineers.
- Lead design development, respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, and provide construction-phase problem-solving.
- Ensure projects succeed from design through delivery.
- Ensure designs meet AASHTO LRFD standards, FDOT requirements, and DRMP's quality standards.
- Lead design reviews and set technical direction on projects.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- Licensed PE (PE/SE in Florida preferred; ability to obtain Florida registration required)
- 10+ years post-registration structural engineering experience
- 15+ years bridge design and plans production experience (concrete, steel, retaining walls, culverts, etc.)
- Proficiency with bridge design software (FB Multi-Pier, Leap Bridge, CSi, STAAD, FDOT tools, etc.)
- Expert-level CADD proficiency (OpenBridge, MicroStation, GEOPAK, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Deep knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and FDOT standards
- Proven ability to mentor junior staff and guide technical teams
- Excellent communication, analytical, and time management skills
- Master's degree (MSE/MSCE) in Civil or Structural Engineering
- SE (Structural Engineer) certification
- 3D modeling expertise with OpenBridge Modeler
- Experience with post-tensioning or complex structures
- Construction specialty engineering or field experience
- FDOT project experience and familiarity with FDOT Structures Manual
