How you’ll contribute:
- Create, edit, publish, and maintain high-quality, client-facing technical documentation in alignment with product release schedules.
- Interview subject matter experts and analyze engineering materials (CAD models, BOMs, UI wireframes) to translate complex concepts into clear, effective documentation plans.
- Evaluate hardware/software prototypes and updated builds to ensure an accurate understanding of product functionality and user workflows.
- Independently manage documentation projects, develop work plans, and track project status using Biamp project management software.
- Represent Technical Publications in product development and ECO meetings, and advise project teams on information design best practices.
- Partner with fellow writers to provide creative support and participate in editorial, peer, and publishing reviews.
- Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and methodologies in technical communications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by your manager
A successful candidate should have:
- 7+ years of technical writing experience, with a proven ability to architect and write clear, audience-tailored procedural and reference content. Must consistently deliver highly accurate, publication-ready drafts with minimal editorial correction.
- Expert information-gathering skills; adept at interviewing subject matter experts and synthesizing complex data from engineering documentation, source materials, and hands-on hardware/software evaluations.
- Advanced proficiency with authoring and design tools, including Adobe Creative/Technical Communication Suites (especially Illustrator and Photoshop), Microsoft Office, and CAD rendering software (such as SolidWorks Composer).
- Experience with content management and version control systems, specifically utilizing SharePoint, Git, and GitHub.
Some nice-to-haves:
- Familiarity with Biamp's product portfolio, or the technical aptitude to quickly master networked audiovisual (AV) hardware, technologies, and software systems.
