A premier, highly respected institution in Western Massachusetts is seeking a skilled Business Manager to join its dynamic Dining Services leadership team. This role serves as a crucial operational and administrative anchor, overseeing high-level budget management, administrative workflows, and workforce development across expansive dining operations. Position Responsibilities
• Provide administrative and operational leadership across dining services units, including resident dining, retail, catering, and culinary divisions.
• Directly supervise, mentor, and evaluate the Financial Analyst and Dining Systems Analyst.
• Manage operational budgeting, financial forecasting, and high-level reporting for a multi-million-dollar departmental budget.
• Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, offboarding, and compliance tracking.
• Coordinate payroll auditing, workforce modeling, and labor planning in collaboration with central institutional departments.
• Ensure strict adherence to food safety standards, local regulations, and institutional compliance requirements.
• Serve as an administrative support bridge for department leadership, balancing financial integrity with team culture and high-touch service standards.
Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and leadership experience).
• 5 to 7 years of progressive management experience within hospitality, senior living, higher education dining, or hotel management environments.
• Proven experience managing operational budgets, financial reporting, and payroll compliance.
• Demonstrated leadership capability in recruiting, onboarding, and supporting cross-functional staff.
• High level of proficiency with dining POS platforms, workforce management tools, and business software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong service orientation and emotional intelligence.
Compensation Package Details
• Base Salary: $85,000 – $95,000.
