Description

Responsibilities

The Vice President, Product is responsible for establishing and leading the organization's enterprise product management function focused on artificial intelligence, workflow transformation, automation, and digital enablement.  This leader serves as the bridge between business operations and technology by identifying high-value opportunities, redesigning workflows, defining future-state operating models, and translating business needs into scalable technology solutions. The role is accountable for product strategy, prioritization, governance, adoption, and value realization, while partnering with IT teams responsible for technical development and support. 

 

The VP will build and lead a team responsible for designing repeatable templates, workflows, business requirements, product roadmaps, and implementation frameworks that enable enterprise scale. The position will ensure AI and automation investments are aligned to organizational priorities, improve operational effectiveness, enhance participant and employee experiences, and generate measurable business outcomes. 

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

 

Functional Category: Enterprise Product Strategy & Portfolio Management

Estimated % of Time: 25%

  • Establish and maintain an enterprise product portfolio for AI, automation, workflow transformation, and digital enablement initiatives.
  • Lead intake, discovery, prioritization, and governance of product opportunities across clinical, operational, and corporate functions.
  • Develop and maintain a rolling 12-18 month product roadmap aligned to strategic priorities and business objectives.
  • Evaluate opportunities based on value creation, scalability, complexity, organizational readiness, and return on investment.
  • Provide executive leadership with portfolio visibility, priorities, investment recommendations, risks, dependencies, and value realization metrics.

  • Lead enterprise workflow redesign efforts to improve efficiency, quality, productivity, and participant experience.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, predictive analytics, and digital tools.
  • Develop future-state operating models, process maps, design standards, and implementation frameworks.
  • Create repeatable templates, playbooks, and solution blueprints that can be scaled across the organization.
  • Ensure solutions are designed around operational needs and measurable outcomes.

Functional Category: Product Definition & Business Requirements

Estimated % of Time: 20%

  • Translate business needs into clear product requirements, user stories, workflow specifications, and business cases.
  • Establish enterprise standards for product documentation and product management.
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment and prioritization across competing business needs.
  • Serve as executive product owner for strategic transformation initiatives.
  • Oversee testing, validation, and business acceptance of developed solutions.

Functional Category: Technology Partnership & Delivery Governance

Estimated % of Time: 15%

  • Partner with Information Technology, Data & Analytics, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, and business leaders to deliver approved solutions.
  • Ensure business requirements are effectively translated into technical development activities.
  • Participate in delivery governance, implementation reviews, and deployment planning.
  • Monitor project progress, issue resolution, and delivery outcomes.
  • Support successful transition of deployed solutions into ongoing operational support models.

Functional Category: AI Governance, Adoption & Value Realization

Estimated % of Time: 10%

  • Establish governance standards for AI-enabled products and intelligent automation solutions.
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, Privacy, and Information Security teams to ensure responsible deployment.
  • Develop adoption, communication, and change management strategies.
  • Measure utilization, adoption, financial value, productivity improvements, and operational outcomes.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts following implementation.

Functional Category: Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing Product & AI Enablement team.
  • Develop organizational capabilities in product management, workflow design, AI utilization, and business transformation.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop future product and transformation leaders.

Qualifications

 

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in product management, business transformation, operational excellence, process improvement, digital transformation, consulting, or technology-enabled business leadership.
  • 7+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-scale initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success designing and implementing enterprise products, operating models, workflows, or digital solutions that delivered measurable business results.
  • Experience establishing product management disciplines, governance frameworks, roadmaps, prioritization methodologies, and portfolio management processes.
  • Strong understanding of artificial intelligence, workflow automation, business process redesign, process orchestration, and digital enablement strategies.
  • Experience translating business objectives into product requirements, solution designs, and implementation plans.
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive alignment across diverse functional areas.
  • Experience leading organizational change management, adoption strategies, and enterprise transformation efforts.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience developing business cases, ROI analyses, and investment recommendations.
  • Exceptional executive communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments requiring governance, risk management, compliance, and stakeholder oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Healthcare, payer, provider, value-based care, PACE, senior care, or population health experience.
  • Experience establishing or leading an enterprise AI strategy, automation program, product organization, or transformation office.
  • Experience implementing Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, Azure AI, workflow automation technologies, or related enterprise AI solutions.
  • Product leadership experience within multi-site, multi-state, or highly matrixed organizations.
  • Experience leading process redesign and digital transformation initiatives across clinical, operational, corporate, or shared services functions.
  • Understanding of data governance, analytics, machine learning, generative AI, and responsible AI principles.
  • Experience partnering closely with software engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, and enterprise technology teams.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Product Management, Prosci Change Management, or related certifications.
  • Experience evaluating, selecting, and implementing enterprise technology solutions from concept through scale.
  • Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing product, transformation, or innovation teams.
