We're looking for a Technology & Business Systems Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience supporting critical business applications and technology initiatives.

In this role, you'll work closely with business stakeholders, software developers, and Scrum team members to help deliver technology solutions that improve how work gets done. You'll have the opportunity to participate in real projects, translate business needs into technical requirements, and gain exposure to modern development practices, Agile delivery, and emerging AI tools.

In this hybrid role, you will spend 10 days a month working from the Madison, WI corporate office.

Primary Accountabilities

• Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to understand business needs and project goals.
• Help gather, document, and clarify requirements for new enhancements and system improvements.
• Act as a liaison between business partners and software development teams.
• Assist with maintaining and updating systems, applications, and documentation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Support testing efforts and help validate that solutions meet business requirements.
• Work closely with experienced Java developers and learn how enterprise applications are designed, built, and supported.
• Contribute to project work that impacts real business outcomes.
• Gain exposure to AI-enabled development tools and emerging technologies, including Claude Code.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
• Must be currently seeking a baccalaureate, masters, or doctoral degree and be enrolled in an accredited college or university on a full-time basis or as required by the university's co-op program.
• Must have achieved 24 semester hours of academic credit before beginning the first work term.

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Travel Requirements
• Up to 10%.

Physical Requirements
• Work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

• To ensure a strong start, all employees participate in our New Employee Orientation during their first week.  This experience is held in person at our Madison, WI Headquarters or one of our AmFam core locations to help you connect with our mission, meet key team members and build relationships that support your growth.  At times, sessions may be delivered virtually based on scheduling and availability.
