## What you’ll do:
"The Senior Firmware Engineer leads the design, development, and delivery of firmware for embedded power-system products, including voltage regulators and recloser controls. The role collaborates with global, cross-functional teams to deliver new products, enhance existing features, and resolve customer issues. Key responsibilities include:
1\. Translate product and system requirements into clear firmware requirements, architecture, and detailed designs.
2\. Develop, integrate, and maintain high-quality embedded software in C and C++ for RTOS, embedded Linux on ARM, and bare-metal platforms.
3\. Lead technical design activities and contribute to product development, technology roadmaps, and innovation initiatives.
4\. Plan and coordinate firmware releases, estimates, schedules, milestones, and risks with global stakeholders.
5\. Participate in Agile planning and deliver firmware incrementally in alignment with project scope, cost, quality, and performance objectives.
6\. Conduct design, code, and implementation reviews; create unit-tested code and ensure appropriate system test and validation coverage.
7\. Partner with systems, hardware, test, cybersecurity, and customer-facing teams to resolve technical issues and deliver reliable solutions.
8\. Evaluate business and technical needs and implement innovative solutions that improve product competitiveness and customer value.
9\. Identify and drive improvements in engineering processes, tools, development practices, and cybersecurity compliance.
10\. Provide technical guidance, support engineering leads, and mentor team members to strengthen team capability."
"Required technical skills:
1\. Strong knowledge of embedded firmware design, development, integration, and troubleshooting.
2\. Advanced programming skills in C++.
3\. Experience designing embedded products using embedded Linux and/or a real-time operating system (RTOS).
4\. Hands-on debugging experience using tools such as J-Link and IAR Embedded Workbench with NXP ColdFire, STM32, or TI AM64x platforms.
5\. Experience with communication interfaces and protocols, including Modbus TCP/IP, CAN, USB, RS-232/RS-485, SPI, I2C, and SNMP.
6\. Experience working with embedded peripherals, including DMA, LCD, Flash memory, RAM, ADC, DAC, PWM, and voltage, current, and temperature sensors.
7\. Ability to read electronic schematics and interpret system behavior.
8\. Familiarity with engineering collaboration and source-control tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitHub or equivalent platforms.
9\. Familiarity with static analysis and software-composition analysis tools such as Coverity and Black Duck.
10\. Working knowledge of MQTT, SNMP traps, SSL/TLS certificates, bootloaders, Syslog, serial communication, Telnet, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP/FTPS, FreeRADIUS, OpenLDAP, and data encryption and decryption.
Preferred experience:
11\. Experience with power-system products such as switchgear, relays, meters, and voltage regulators.
Professional skills:
12\. Strong teamwork and proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations.
13\. Effective written and verbal English communication skills for engaging with customers and technical teams."
