Description

Operating within the student-centered framework of holistic advising and success coaching, this position is a critical driver of program efficacy and student upward mobility. This position is directly responsible for coordinating student work experiences by maintaining operational excellence through meticulous data management, compliance tracking, and administrative efficiency in applied science program areas. Furthermore, this role spearheads targeted recruitment and outreach initiatives to expand program visibility, while simultaneously cultivating external partnerships to secure, facilitate, and monitor high-impact student work-experience and experiential learning opportunities.

*Maintains a thorough understanding of Work-Based Learning enrollment and compliance criteria across the college to coordinate the student user experience, including course selection, scheduling, enrollment, documentation, and reporting.

*Understands the nuance of Work-Based Learning and Apprenticeship across college disciplines, programs, and industry sectors and can meaningfully advise students about all available and/or required work experience opportunities, wraparound college services, and enrollment in Work-Based Learning courses.

*Promotes student work experience enrollment to departments by serving on advisory committees, engaging in student and employer outreach activities, working with faculty to identify eligible students for Work-Based Learning programs and/or apprenticeships, actively recruits students, and engages with potential employers to expand student opportunities.

*Monitors student records and program performance data for completeness, collects documentation, and audits records monthly for compliance with state code and college requirements.


Interacts with industry partners to promote student engagement through work experience. 


Supports data collection and analytics in collaboration with the Director, compiling class reports, service utilization metrics, and participant satisfaction data.


Serves as the primary liaison for faculty coordinator and student concerns, proactively addressing issues and collaborating with leadership to implement timely resolutions that deliver a high level of customer service.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of excellent customer service and communication across modes (in-person, online, phone, presentations, training) and the ability to engage in:

Active Listening: Understand diverse perspectives without judgment.

Audience Adaptability: Pivot between casual student tone and formal professional jargon.

Clear Articulation: Present complex program requirements in simple, accessible language.

Familiarity with post-secondary settings and a diverse student population, and demonstrates an understanding of the following:

Student Development Theory: Understand college student demographics, challenges, and milestones.

Academic Culture: Recognize faculty workloads, student barriers, and institutional timelines.

Community Needs: Know regional labor market trends and local economic challenges.

Data Privacy Regulations: Comply with FERPA laws and student information protection

Knowledge of the importance of inter-agency collaboration and effective course programming.

Proven experience using and managing cloud-based systems and applications such as Microsoft 365, Google Suite, etc.

Demonstrated ability to maintain flexibility and reliability to work independently.

Demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness in troubleshooting, problem solving, and developing new ideas and strategies.

Ability to travel to other campus locations and work evening and weekend events as necessary.

Ability to operate in a fast-paced work environment with strong organizational and prioritization skills to handle multiple tasks and projects.

Able to work efficiently with flexibility to re-prioritize tasks when faced with unforeseen challenges.

Ability to work with diverse groups.


Minimum Requirements:
 

A bachelor’s degree in education, business, program management, or a related field.

Two years’ experience building and maintaining partnerships to support student job placement through Work-Based Learning, Apprenticeship, or Workforce Training


Valid Driver's license and approval required by the College’s liability insurance carrier


Must be able to travel locally


This position requires a blend of in-person work and hybrid work hours
