Position Summary...
What you'll do...
Role summary:As the Senior Manager of Inventory Flow Optimization – Fresh, you will own the inventory flow strategy for Sam’s Club’s Fresh business and serve as the primary flow strategy partner to Fresh Merchandising leaders. You will identify the biggest cost, speed, and availability opportunities, build the analytics and business cases to unlock them, and drive execution across Merchandising, Supply Chain, Transportation, Replenishment, and Sourcing partners across Sam’s Club and Walmart. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on leader who builds trusted Merchant relationships, takes complete ownership of their business, and can turn complex supply chain trade-offs into simple, clear recommendations.
About the team:
The Inventory Flow Optimization team sits at the intersection of Merchandising strategy and Supply Chain execution. Our mission is to optimize inventory flow from supplier to member – improving cost, speed, and availability. The Fresh pillar owns end-to-end inventory flow for one of Sam’s Club’s largest and most complex businesses. Fresh product moves fast, has limited shelf life, and often requires temperature-controlled transportation – so every flow decision has a direct impact on cost, freshness, and in-stock for our members.
What you'll do:
- Set the Fresh Inventory Flow Strategy: Build and own a clear strategy and roadmap for Fresh – the key pain points, where value can be unlocked, top priorities, and how success will be measured – aligned to Merchandising and Supply Chain goals
- Be the Merchant’s Trusted Inventory Flow Partner: Establish a consistent cadence of engagement with Fresh Merchandising leaders. Proactively bring the insights, trade-offs, and recommendations that make their decisions simple and fast
- Optimize End-to-End Flow & Network Decisions
- Own Freight Factor & Supply Chain Cost Analytics
- Drive Measurable Impact: Define, track, and report the KPIs for your business
What you'll bring:
- Supply chain depth: Experience with transportation, network and flow design, distribution, or inventory management
- Strong analytical skills: Comfortable with Excel, SQL, and BI tools (Power BI / Tableau) to build cost models and business cases
- A relationship builder who leads by influence: You build trust quickly with Merchants and cross-functional partners, prioritize face-to-face conversations, and drive alignment across organizational lines
- Executive communication: You turn complex trade-offs into clear stories and recommendations
- Disciplined execution: You run multiple initiatives end-to-end with clear plans, owners, and timelines, and you create structure in ambiguous environments
-Health benefits include medical, vision and dental coverage
-Financial benefits include 401(k), stock purchase and company-paid life insurance
-Paid time off benefits include PTO, parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting. You will also receive PTO and/or PPTO that can be used for vacation, sick leave, holidays, or other purposes. The amount you receive depends on your job classification and length of employment. It will meet or exceed the requirements of paid sick leave laws, where applicable.
For information about PTO, see https://one.walmart.com/notices.
- Other benefits include short-term and long-term disability, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, and more.
Live Better U is a company paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.
Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to a specific plan or program terms.
