Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Associate Civil Engineer to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for recent engineering graduates or professionals at the beginning of their careers who are looking to develop their technical expertise in a collaborative environment.
Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, the Associate Engineer will apply fundamental engineering principles to support the planning, construction, design, analysis, and delivery of engineering projects. The role offers valuable hands-on experience and opportunities to develop technical and professional skills while contributing to project success.
What You'll Be Doing:
Perform routine engineering and design assignments using established engineering principles and practices.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, material quantity take-offs, cost estimates, surveys, technical reports, and design documentation.
Support the preparation of material purchase requisitions, service requests, and subcontract documentation.
Assist senior engineers in reviewing supplier drawings, technical submittals, and bid evaluations.
Prepare and issue engineering specifications, data sheets, and construction documentation.
Coordinate with CAD/CADD designers and drafters to ensure accurate preparation of engineering drawings.
Assist in coordinating design activities with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical consistency, interface compatibility, and timely delivery of project deliverables.
Participate in design coordination meetings and support the resolution of technical interface issues under the guidance of senior engineers.
Participate in site visits, inspections, field investigations, sampling, and data collection activities as required.
Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and engineering standards.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to project objectives.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
0–2 years of relevant engineering experience.
Basic understanding of engineering principles, standards, and practices.
Familiarity with engineering software and Microsoft Office applications.
Exposure to CAD/CADD applications is an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
